I was coming on here to post that. Roddick would have beaten anyone in the world today except Federer.Anyone watching Federer v Roddick? Awesome match. Roddick playing awesome but down 2 sets to love. How good are Feds nerves. The ace at 6-5 in the 1st tie break and the backhand return off a 140mph serve at 4-4 in the 2nd tie break

Ferrer played the best match of his life, give him some credit FFS. Ferrer's off-FH was sublime. Nadal didn't lose the match and he'd be the first one to agree. Ferrer was incredible and won the match on his own racquet. My point stands. The sooner Nadal learns that to win hardcourt grand slams you need to hit the ball a heck of a lot flatter, the closer he'll go to winning one. FFS he got dominated by David friken Ferrer..need I say any more! That was a shocking match for Nadal to lose, injured or not. He played dumb, defensive tennis and he faced the consequences.
Absolute rubbish. He may not have lost the match alone, but his dumb defensive tactics sure helped him lose!
Rafa's game is essentially about endurance. he runs harder adn works harder than anyone. his game is basically about getting the ball back over the net again and again. he doesn't have a great arsenal of winning shots for a player at his level in the rankings and as a result will struggle at NY and Melbourne where endurance simply isn't enough.
To be absolutely honest 4th round or Qtrs is about his level at Flushing meadows or melbourne. He doesn't have the weapons and is too predictable to win consistently against top opposition on hard courts.

Rafa has bigger weapons then Ferrer, and Ferrer beat him through better endurance (could be due to injury).Rafa's game is essentially about endurance. he runs harder adn works harder than anyone. his game is basically about getting the ball back over the net again and again. he doesn't have a great arsenal of winning shots for a player at his level in the rankings and as a result will struggle at NY and Melbourne where endurance simply isn't enough.

Haha yeah, I enjoy his antics. Bouncing the ball alot before a serve is annoying but what's worse is when players like Leander Paes hold their racquet in suspense at chest height for like 10-15 seconds. Frustrating routine.Haha, his impersonations are classic! He's a good character. Just wish he wouldnt bounce the ball so many ****ing times before his serve!

talking crap as usual GT. His 2nd half of the year is always bad... the guy can win big tournaments ffs, like hardcourt masters series events. Rafa doesnt have a great arsenal of winning shots? thats a disgraceful comment. Most are baseliners in todays game and gone are the days of big servers. His angles on the court and big bouncing deep groundstrokes are his major weapon. When he is not playing well you can tell, his groundstrokers are short, he goes into his shell by getting defensive etc etc. But what would you know since you are one eyed

Honestly he looked spent to be honest. Everyone knows that Rafa has a long season between the clay season to the end of Wimbledon. He really has to make a decision of whether he just wants to concentrate on those slams OR does he want to be fresher for the US Open. Mentally and physically and I don't love Rafa but he was gone. He probally needs to cut back the tournaments on clay to give himself a chance at the US Open.

What you say is true but he still wouldn't win the Open due to his limited game adn need to wear down opponents before beating them. That attritional stuyff does not work at Flushing Meadows where Djokovic with his greater variety adn more developed game is the only real consistent threat to Federer. Rafa is essentially a Spanish clay courter and is short of true all time great class on other surfaces. He has won events on other surfaces but clay will always be his forte
He could cut back on the clay tournaments but that would only sacrifice ranking points with no real expectation of gaining more later in the season.
His incredible work rate and application makes the most of his talent but unfortunately as the years go by that very work rate will leave him open to injury and fatigue. It is highly unlikely he will ever win a slam away from Paris. He simply doesn't have the talent to.
