BTW, Swans Academy are playing GWS Academy on Saturday so I guess that's why Bang is playing in this game as some of your regular topups would be playing for the Academy, just like Lloyd Perris and Harrison Green are doing for ours.

Small forward Gerard Ugle was among the UWS GIANTS best players in their 49-point loss to the Sydney Swans in their NEAFL match at Blacktown International Sportspark on Sunday.
The GIANTS put in a competitive display but the Swans set the tone early with two goals in the opening two minutes of the game.
The GIANTS responded in the second term, kicking three goals to Sydney’s four, and remained competitive in the third before dropping off in the last.
UWS GIANTS Coach Brett Hand said he was disappointed with his sides performance against the Swans.
“We went into the game with expectations, so it was disappointing to walk away with that result," Hand said.
“We had a great opportunity to step up this week and we didn’t do it which is disappointing."
Despite the disappointing loss, Hand said that his young side displayed plenty of promising signs against a more mature Swans outfit.
“Gerald Ugle looked lively up forward. He crumbed reasonably well and was rewarded with his efforts.
“Anthony Miles was our best in the midfield. He put his head in every contest and led from the front.
“Mark Whiley tagged Andrejs Everett and Tom Mitchell and did really well to take on that role. Tom Downie is also progressing well each week in the ruck.”
The UWS GIANTS have won three of their six games played this season.

Defender Matthew Buntine pushed his claims for senior selection with another strong performance for the UWS GIANTS in their 88-point loss to the Brisbane Lions Blacktown International Sportspark.
The GIANTS got off to a solid start in the first term, matching the strong Lions side on the scoreboard before the visitors pulled away with a seven goal second quarter.
After a hard-fought third term with both sides scoring three goals, the Lions ran away with in the final quarter. Despite the result, UWS GIANTS Coach Brett Hand said there were some positives to come out of the game.
“We started the game quite well with some good ball use and winning the contested ball,” Hand said. “We were able to compete at stoppages and create secondary stoppages regularly but as the game went on we let the ball out and were unable to prevent them from scoring.

UWS up 74-38 at half-time over Hills. Seems they're relishing the chance to not play against an AFL reserves side after the last 3 weeks.

I am very concerned with the UWS performances. There are a lot of players in that team that would be thinking they are AFL ready. We should be killing the NEAFL this season.... especially against the Suns! It is a real worry.

Again, UWS wasn't especially impressive this arvo against Hill Eagles.
The top-up (Finlayson) was on fire early and an early goal. In fact, UWS started well but their third quarter was pretty ordinary - Eagles did them for pace and sheer enthusiasm.
Big roast by Coach Brett at three quarter time and they stirred into action. They did enough to escape with a win by three goals or so, but, considering it was a pretty strong team (only two top-ups), the coaches would have expected better.
Good to see Andrew Phillips as runner - seemed to move freely.

Defenders Nick Haynes and Lachie Plowman helped the UWS GIANTS to a 19-point victory against Sydney Hills Eagles in their NEAFL match at Bruce Purser Reserve.

Haynes and Plowman were the GIANTS best and their performances put them in the mix for a recall to the senior team this weekend when the GIANTS host Geelong at SKODA Stadium on Saturday.

Anthony Miles and Sam Reid once again put in strong displays in the midfield and Liam Sumner, Mark Whiley and Reid all kicked three goals.
