More worried than excited, and definately not trying to ridicule.

I rate Richmond and think that a few lapses in games have cost you 2-4 extra wins this year and a definate spot in the 8.

My intent was to simply point out that the loss to Freo was not in the same league as the loss to Gold Coast. Freo have played fairly good football all year, unlike GC. Barring a plague of injuries last year, Freo would have played in consecutive finals after finishing 6th in 2010 and winning an elimination final.

However, I take Stylo's point that the Freo loss was the beginning of a downturn for Richmond.

BTW. Thats a really, really ridiculously good looking avatar you have there.:thumbsu:

Well hurry up and suck down a couple of these then... that'll make you feel like death...

I was thinking more of listening to Freos theme song....would want death after listening to that..  :

I thought he was on topic and spot on, and used the original poster's language. No issues here.
Language was mature, just calling Richmond a disgrace crosses the line in my mind, particularly on our own board. I'm not saying it was or wasn't true, just that you expect some liberties in home territory. Happy to be wrong :)

Fixed - That rag is not good enough to clean the barbie with!

Gotta hate living in WA. I remember a couple of months ago they had a two page spread on Richmond titled "Tigers need to keep a lid on it"... well a damned two page spread on an interstate team isn't gonna help is it?

and the Sunday Times is even worse...

On topic - looking forward to the game today, and agree on the excitement to see Helbig get a full gig

Meh, I thought it was borderline but given the context entirely correct, but I'm pretty thick skinned. WE LOST TO THE GC AND ****ED OUR SEASON UP FFS. It is a disgrace.

With our final chance's gone with some unacceptable losses, mixed with some heart wrenching losses - today is where we will have to bench mark this team and what 2013 could possibly bring us.

The round 11 loss to Freo was ( besides the gold Coast match ) the moment we knew that this team still has serious big stage issues, and struggle against well organized, coached & professional outfits. Today is all about payback for our boys, & especially Damian Hardwick - as last time round, Ross Lyon, Matthew Pavlich & the entire Fremantle team made our entire squad look like a bunch of up & coming boys, trying to be taken serious against men.

Today is all about payback & if the past 10 weeks has made this squad any closer to being men.

Lets screw their season up like they did to our, we owe them one:thumbsu:

if a couple fo results go our way over the next 24 hours , our finals chances are still very much in the frame..

Like it? It's a mixture of blue steel, la tigra, magnum and ferrari....

That loss didn't ruin our season. And as I said, we couldn't put the boys on the park.

It will also be the first time in a while we have Carltank and Essendon fans Barracking for us..
Will also be the first and last time we're barracking for the Bummers. Then if results go our way until the last round we'll then have to barrack for Carlton. Christ I feel so dirty just typing that.

Have to agree to disagree on that Dr. To me that's only an excuse for not thrashing them.

Very much aware of that. But we dont encourage opposition supporters trolling our board stating the obvious.

Which is kind of what I'm saying and emphasises where Richmond are at as a club. But anyway, game day!

Had a few drinks last night with tugga and WATIGE, with KiwiTiger rocking up a bit later. Much fun was had by all, especially watching Geelong beat Saints.

I should probably start thinking about getting ready to head down

Just my opinion. In context I thought it was borderline but fine. As with all things it's a matter of opinion though. Anyway, back to topic ...

REVENGE!

Say hi to the guys and have a great day!

I definitely didn't imply Gold Coast as being a more professional outfit - i was speaking specifically about Freo, and probably more so - Ross Lyon vs D.Hardwick. Lyon out coached D.H like no other in that match. It was our home game, you had a couple of players get injured early - one being your most important structure players in Sandiland's and we had all the form - the only x factor in that match was the weather, and Ross Lyon did a mighty job of making the enitre game about handling those conditions.

It was a clear moment where it became evident that the players and the coaches still had a lot to prove before we deserved the hype about us, and how the club handled it from there was poor. The seeds of doubt were sewn, and the mind games began for Richmond. Look at the results after this...

Rich Bt GWS = 86 to 74 ( deplorable match )
Adl bt Rich = 106 t0 87 ( after we lead by nearly 40 points early )
Rich bt Melb = 101 to 78 ( worst game of the season for the entire league, we kicked 23 points )
GC bt Rich = 90 - 88 ( most embarrassing loss in our history in terms of our opponent )
Nth bt Rich = 103 - 99 ( close loss, back to lacking belief )
Carl bt Rich = 91 - 95 ( see above )

Everyone that knows this club well knew that the Freo game at home represented a test of our maturity and beating our self destructive history. We failed that test and the possible melt down from it occurred. The club looks like it may have matured from this experience this time, but today is the test of that. Freo i would think have similar demons and would be definitely looking at this Richmond match in the same way we looked at them in round 11. Season on the line, winnable match @ home, have the momentum - disaster awaits - maybe.

It's not about spoiling your season - its about payback. you cost us ours with that great win & we know it. you instilled the doubt, we would like to prove today that we are capable of the same.

Looking forward to seeing how the club deals with this match, i am sure they see the symbolic value of beating freo on their home patch today :)

i don't post here much anymore, but seriously - whats the obsession with having to move every 2nd thread into another 1? Totally takes out the single personality's of this board. I used to pick which thread i read by who started it. It's kinda shit moving them all into one giant thread, sure it's "neater" but it totally makes it suck to try and have one specific conversation about something. Just because its about the Rich v freo match, doesn't mean it fits in the same basket as every conversation about Rich vs Freo

Good points. I agree with your assessment of both teams.

One of the thing I like the most about the Richmond board is it's clean and well structured so I'll probably disagree with you on this

I'd ask what's the obsession with people starting new threads when there's already one created for the same discussion?

Another Cotchin BOG - 10 coaches votes/3 brownlow votes will do me today. Maybe Jack 5-6 goals to take lead in the Coleman (doubt it though given he will play on McPharlin).

About the only interest I can muster for this game, especially if it's just scrum after scrum and massive flooding like last time we played Freo.
