Yeah agree…. but the comment was about which players ā€œplaying todayā€ to compare him too.
I’m not a big fan of today’s footballers honestly, if there was a player from another team I would want at Port it would be Toby Greene.
Peter was Greene like because he could change a game on his own.
Difference was Peter had more X factor, was ahead of his time.

Agree with this. Peter was fifty percent Toby and fifty percent G.A.S. Imo.

I don't think Peter was a great natural athlete, although he had a wonderful leap on him. Had an enormous amount of

x-factor and natural footy instincts. Thanks for the memories Buzz, condolences to his family.
That 10 to 2 gait of his was awful but by crikey could he jump at a footy and turn players inside out with ease.

RIP Buzz. The archetype for the modern forward.

Back in the day when I was about 6 or 7 they did player meet and greets at Highpoint on the Friday before a Carlton-Collingwood game. Buzz was there along with the big little man in my avatar.

Dad had taken me and my sister (both in Collingwood scarves) and I was in my Carlton jumper. I go up to Buzz for an autograph and he sees Dad's scarf and me in my Baggers kit and says "at least the milkman has good taste".

Who would you pick if they were both lined up against the wall, Buzz or Peter Daicos?
Being as unbiased as possible, I'd take Buzz because of his aerial prowess.
Both could make the footy talk, both were extremely evasive and both were extremely confident in their ability.
Buzz's goals/game is slightly higher.
I commented on another site that I reckon Buzz's 65 games hamper the general public opinion and knowledge of him.

Made such a big impact on the club and its supporters in such a short time.

He and Ken Hunter coming over from Perth at the same time was huge and in no doubt played a big part in the 81-82 premierships.

RIP, Buzz and thanks for the wonderful memories.

Daicos by some way. Kicked 80+ goals in a premiership side and could play in the middle

It's a pity that the Buzz didn't have a VFL career as long as that of Daicos, he may have given him a run for his money

Daicos 550 goal career and would be considered in an afl all time team + a mid fwd. Buzz not quite at that level
Sure I get it, not diminishing Daicos's achievements one iota. All I'm saying is from a goal/game perspective, Buzz went at 2.25 in his 65 games, Daicos went at 2.20 over 250 games. Had Buzz played 250 games I'm tipping we be having a different conversation. I asked the question, you'd pick Daicos, I'd pick Buzz, bounce the ball.

In Perth I walked around with a radio all day on Saturdays watching my brothers playing footy but listening to the WAFL games (west Perth always) on the radio.

They’d do the around the grounds score update and wherever the Perth Demons were playing it seemed like a Bosustow update some days. Perth were a good team then. The commentators loved calling ā€œBosustowā€ as much as Victorian commentators loved calling ā€œJesaulenkoā€

A real pity so few games were televised because he must have played some absolute blinders . I rarely got to WAFL games and I’m not sure I ever saw him play live. Honestly, thank goodness he went to the Blues so his talent could be seen a captured on tape.
