Pick 9 and 27

for

Rich and 42?

That's if WCE finish say, 10th, and Brisbane finish say, 13th. Obviously excluding inevitable compo picks.

I can't see him quitting Brisbane and nominating West Coast though, which is what would have to happen for the above to occur.

If we finished 10th i wouldn't do that trade. If we are that low we need a rebuild and rich does not give us that. I don't think i would give a pick above ten for Rich i think he's a bit overrated and doesn't really provide a solution to any problem wce has in the midfield.
Worth pick 10-15

Probably not the thread to discuss it but I think suggesting we'd need a rebuild if we missed the finals is a bit of a stretch. Good teams have bad years often, we have a young enough nucleus for us to be able to push through, IMO.

Rich would add to said nucleus, including players under 25 such as Naitanui, Darling, Shuey, Gaff, Selwood, Masten, Wellingham, Sheppard, Newman etc. He's exactly the right age in terms of players we should be targeting. He's not a top up player. Also I think he'd add alot to our midfield, a penetrating left boot is always handy.

I think you have a point about Rich being slightly overrated but at the same time, I think he'd require an offer similar to the one I suggested above. Sometimes you have to pay overs to improve your squad.

he is worth more than a first round pick IMO unless that pick is top 3 with a super player in the draft that Brisbane wants I.E Nicnat or the next lance franklin

I'll say 10-13, but to be honest it is pretty dependant on the team.

He's a player with limitations that I think would be more suitable and more valuable to team with an already established midfield that he can compliment with his skills rather than be a player to build around in a crap midfield where he may struggle also.

He'd fit in perfectly at Essendon. Probably the final piece to the midfield puzzle considering we won't be going after that one more explosive outside midfielder we need. That classy ball user, Dal Santo spec with more of an inside game.

You'd think it would take at least a top 6-8 pick.

Rich is the type of player who clubs probably wouldn't give a top 10 pick for, but the type of player the Lions wouldn't accept anything less for.

Needs to learn to break a tag. Slowly, but surely it will happen.

Would give up our first round pick, say pick 10 - 13 plus something. Would want to keep our second pick so possibly a fringe player that Brisbane may want. Not sure who though, our fringe players have either shown f*k all or probably too much to package with a first round pick for Rich
