Do people indicate when they are local and no cars are around? I won't indicate turning in/out of my street if there are no cars behind me.

I still indicate, but I think that's more out of muscle memory than anything

I do, more out of muscle memory and trying to keep up good driving habits/behaviours.

I still do it out habit. Indicate, I mean. Even if I would be the only person on the planet.

I often don't indicate when there are no other cars around, what's the point of indicating if there's no one else there to see it?

Adam Carolla said on his podcast he drives through red lights when no other cars are around, I'm not game enough to do that.

My old man subscribes to not indicating when people are not around.

Funny his driving had deteriorated over the years and it is because of this type of shit

As we humans get older the driving gets worse.MRs R dad driving in bad sometimes .
You get im driving dont tell what to do.

Get in the back seat old man .

He stole that bit from George Carlin.

I seen this old guy on a scooter driving on the road. I can almost hear "you not talking my independence away" when I drive past .
Balls of steel.

It doesn't make much difference if you are turning left out of a side street. But when changing lanes on the highway it could be the car you haven't seen that will avoid a collision if you indicate.

Oh yeah freeway I always do. I am talking pulling out of my street with nobody around etc.

Some of the bumps on the roads with those little wheels. Surprised he doesn't vanish down a pothole.

This guy taking a piss on the monsh.
Oh lordy .

Motor bike doing mono on the Geelong road.

I have decided I want the ability to pull people over to tell them they are driving like a tw@t. Pop a special siren on, flashing lights, calmly just wander to the car and let them know they are driving like a tw@t. No shouting, anger, just as a community service. They may not know they are driving like a tw@t. This is for the types that are driving 80 in the outside lane of a 100 zone. Those types.

I’m sure you can buy all that stuff on eBay. Good luck using it though 😂

When driving home, I have to turn onto a local road before turning onto my street - after turning onto the local road, it swings left & continues or you turn right into another side street. It’s also not uncommon for this small strip of road to have cars parked either side when it’s barely 20m of road, so something drivers should be mindful of

Twice this week I’ve had to “slam” on my brakes (I’m only doing 20km/30km at most) but have had to come to complete stop due to vehicles coming the other way around that bend and cutting it by such a distance that if I was to continue, my front drivers corner would hit their drivers side door area

The first time this week was a green P plater driving a Merc who was going too fast for the area & had zero intention of correcting onto his side of the road - I did hit my horn for him such was his manner of driving

Then today the driver was driving in a more cautious manner but even after they saw me they made zero attempt to correct their positioning to take it wider & I had to stop before even entering the bend

It really shouldn’t amaze me but it does frustrate me how selfish drivers can be on local roads because 95% of the time they likely don’t encounter anyone on that bend and then decide they’ve still got the right of way, even when a car is approaching from the other direction - surely it’s not hard to be considerate of drivers, as there’s def enough room for cars to pass each other on the bend as I’ve passed trucks on it
