See for me that’s odd. We double up on two teams but don’t play Tasmania or Williamstown.

Why do the VFL butcher the fixture like this? (Not expecting you to have an answer)

1:05pm v Coburg @ Barry Plant Park (No clash - AFL Lions Easter Thur)

Round 4: Fri April 17
7:05pm v Carlton @ Ikon Park (No Clash - AFL Thur)

Round 5: Sat April 25
v Essendon @ Vic Park.
12:10pm. (AFL - 3:10pm)

Round 6: Sat May 2nd
v Box Hill. 2:05pm @ Box Hil Oval (No Clash: AFL Thur)

Given the decent crowds we get for Willy, you'd think (like the other standalone clubs) they would factor that into things. I much enjoyed last years game (not the wildcard one the one before that) it was a good win.

The AFL are in a bubble and in there it all makes sense.

I don't think we play any of Gold Coast, Sandringham or Southport either, do we?!

So we play 14 teams once, and 2 teams (Essendon & Geelong) twice to make up our 18 games (16 opponents). That leaves the 5 teams who we don't play at all.

Yeah real unfortunate for him. He was upbeat about it. He said he was looking forward to playing in the intraclub friday. But he has surgery monday, hopefully has a smooth recovery.

I wonder if recruiting Teakle is cover for a possible mid season draft? If Cameron goes down we are screwed. Perhaps is a sign that they have no real good young rucks not that Teakle is much chop but we have young skinny kids. Steene is not an AFL ruck, will he ever be, I doubt it? It’s why it wouldn’t have done any harm keeping Coxy around on minimum chips just in case.

I imagine recruiting Teakle was because we needed a vfl ruck after Boston left for essendon. Not much more than that I wouldn't think.

They clearly are putting their faith in Oscar's development enough to let Cox go. And giving him a 2 year extension. Time will tell.
