You had to say this Jen …given our healthy injury list, there are gonna be some good players to miss out on selection next week.

They're better off than our B side AFL players.only about 12 players at training tonight. Given it’s the bye week some might have trained with their local sides if they are playing a game this weekend

He plays key defence. Only 191cm but I really like him. Built like a brick shithouse and the nephew of the famous sports writer Tony DeBolfoI’m a bit out of touch with the VFL players. I’m guessing the club rated De Bolfo? Where does he play?

I would take himAlso like has a real crack.
Ssp, could do worse.
I enjoy the VFL matches. I get frustrated the players take so long to emerge even higher picks Allan, Ryan and HDM. They just don’t dominate at the lower level. Ginni and Henry were selfish. Too many current players appear to just be good VFL players. The lower picks for the last two years have more AFL traits but are taking time as expected. The start of the VFL is just too late. As for a player who could not be ignored maybe HH, a stretch. Our new players are traded. I don’t think there are players with that profile. Good question.I’m looking forward to next week’s VFL game - as much as I am the seniors. At Vic Park, lots of new kids, been waiting and waiting, on a Friday (slightly weird scheduling). What’s not to love about that?
Hopefully the performance of one or two of the listed newbies, or even listed others, demands a senior game. Doesn’t seem to happen all that often with us - West sort of did last year, Roan Steele? And dare I say Ollie Henry when he kicked seven goals in the twos back in 2022. And before that Ginni in 2021 got better and better in the twos in his first season.
I need some help with this - who else in the recent past played so well in the twos that they could no longer be ignored? I’m not even sure McCreery played much VFL. Bucks got him into the seniors very quickly.
I think that the fact that the VFL and AFL boys don't train together that the VFL boys play to each other more easily than to the AFL boys.I enjoy the VFL matches. Richard’s dominated and was kicking bags. Went from being delisted to being a standout small forward. If HH or Hayes want to be called up I’d expect the same.I’m looking forward to next week’s VFL game - as much as I am the seniors. I think Anderson could impress very early.Richard’s dominated and was kicking bags. Went from being delisted to being a standout small forward. If HH or Hayes want to be called up I’d expect the same.
Long looked good on the vfl as well in the games he played. As has Parker.
Cochran struggled a bit last year and was not played as a KPD which is why I never understood posters calling for his inclusion after a pre season
West has been the best performeed and dominated games. Clear standout for me before injury.
Yes, McCreery went into the senior team quite early in 2021 (his first season with the club), and (injury permitting) has been there since. He has never played a VFL game. Chances are he would have played one or two early in 2021 but the VFL season didn't kick off until mid-April (due to Covid), and he had debuted for the senior team on April 1st (Rd. 3).I’m looking forward to next week’s VFL game - as much as I am the seniors. Not sure if Sully counts as he was I think 26 when we drafted him as an SSP in 2024I’m looking forward to next week’s VFL game - as much as I am the seniors. At Vic Park, lots of new kids, been waiting and waiting, on a Friday (slightly weird scheduling). What’s not to love about that?
