Once he made the Prelim in 2023 the expectations of a starved big 4 club where so hard to contain, the club wasn't as close as the results showed.

I will always wonder what his coaching career would have looked like if Matthews went 12 more months and he was allowed to be an assistant as West Coast before taking the Lions job.

how long do coaches need to be given, to sort out an issue that has already been happening for 2-3 years? voss is a great guy, but the horrible, predictable nature of what has been occurring does not paint voss in the best light. he either never addressed the issue or never had the wherewithal to do so. on top of this, question marks over standards, skills etc.

hope he has a relaxing time away from the game. it will sting but there has to be something better to do than fronting up to talk platitudes about this basket case of a club.

I think some coaches aren't necessarily bad, they just get fooled by a bit of success and assume it will continue.

As fun as their finals run in 2023 was, it was on the back of some pretty significant luck.

It was also the year where they decided not to trade in players for the first time since 2015.

Cripps would only go to a team in contention but who would take him? Is he past it? Weitering must be 30? He’d be getting restless not having success. He’d be a great get for a contending team. I’d love to see him at Melbourne.

Cripps isn't past it. He just needs the pressure to be taken off him in terms of not feeling like he has to do it all.

Put Cripps alongside Jackson, Serong, Brayshaw, Bolton etc and he could still play some great football.

We have next to no players to take advantage of his A grade inside work, Freo do.

Weitering and McKay are 28 at present. We can sit on them for one more season probably.
