- Fell down across half forward as always. Never had the right structure in place.

- McPhee should be played as a half forward where someone needs to worry about him

- Houli looked good, he'll improve

- Johns should be played 1 out in the goalsquare

- MJ and Watson were better

- No Lloyd is hurting us, don't think the gameplan helps, need a better structure

- Pev is servicable with no other options but wouldnt start in most teams midfields

- Paddy is gonna be a star. Shouldn't have been moved from Edwards

- Hille played the kind of game we need from him each week, needs to become a better tap ruckman

- Laycock showed signs

- Lovett, Davey, McVeigh, Stants and Winders were all very good

- Cole didn't deserve a game over Longergan

- We need to go with more pace. Hope to see more runners included in the team. One of Johns or Laycock needs to go. If not both for Gumby. They are both a liability once the ball hits the floor. Need to blood more of our runners so our midfield can develop

- Need to get more run or some form of a defensive wall across the middle of the ground. Whenever we turn the ball over at half forward it comes back the other way too quickly and there is no resistance until it goes deep. Any team that goes for the short option always destroys us

- Overall, promising signs but we are a couple of years away. We won't challenge until our midfield is strengthened, i believe we have the talent on our list though most are about 50 games away and a couple of years in the gym. Dyson, Jetta, Houli, Slattery, NLM, Hislop, Dempsey, Longergan and Nash should all be given ample opportunity when available so they can gel and provide run.

End of season we need to look at:

Whether Heff, Pev, Bolton and even Cole should remain on the list ahead of a kid

Whether Keps is on the verge of turning the corner or whether we can get something of value for him. I don't understand why he can't be developed as a CHF. He has the mobility, the marking ability and he won't have to play tight. Everyone says our forward line is too tall, with Lloyd out I feel we should play either Johns at FF with Scotty at CHF or Scotty at FF and Keps at CHF. Not all 3 though.

Jury is out on Dyson, I think he will make it, but there will be the question of keeping him vs taking a kid, I hope he shows something soon

Sorry for the rant, had nothing else to do. Not overreacting, thought the boys were good and played well, nobody to point fingers at other than accepting the reality of what we see each week. For some reason the opposition always rises against us and we haven't put a team out of the game and maintained the lead in a long time

Also agree with those suggesting a new coach next season, I love Sheeds to death but we desperately need a fresh approach. Even his 3qtr time speech, whilst hitting the main points, don't think he got the message across and didn't offer anything other than "get the ball, kick it forward". It's not easy, I coach an u18 team and know how difficult it can be to get the players to respond, Sheeds is the man and has built us a decent team, the next coach will have all the tools to take us to the next level.

3 Lucus

2 Stanton

1 Johnson

Overall a disappointing effort,

Monfries was brave,
Lovett frustrates me,
Daveys was good,
Houli was good,
Hillie was very good,
Lucus was great apart from clanger for failure to handball
Hird took some nice marks and is still a great, but is clearly showing his age

I couldn't pin point it but we just lacked something tonight a spark

1. Stanton
2. Lucas
3. Hille (his best game of the year)

Some thoughts:

Ryder was also exceptional. Basically anywhere Sheeds moved him he played well. Even when in the ruck he was beating Macintosh who is a very good ruckman. Some of Ryder's taps to our advantage were awesome.

MJ had a much improved game and gave his all.

Monfries was tough all night. He is a great mark, but needs to improve on his in and under work at stoppages.

Laycock did not do much, but I think he juts needs more game time. Look at how well Macintosh is now playing ( they are the same age).

Johns did not do much.

Watsons kicking was bloody good (compared to his normal disposal.

Stanton proved he cannot only run all night and get plenty of the ball he can also go forward and take contested marks and kick goals.

JJ was fairly good although dropped off from last week.

Houli had a good debut.

Winderlich was basically our only player to run through the central corridor all night. He is invaluable to the team.

Lucas was as good as usual (apparently if his opponent restricts him to 5 goals they have one the contest:confused: .

Davey works extremely hard and if he continues to play this way he may win the B&F.

Overall I think that our decision making is not great and this is one of our biggest problems. I guess as players get more experience this will hopefully improve.

I love Scotty Lucas, always goes hard, was unlucky at times tonight and probly shoulda kicked a couple more but he was great.

Hird really impressed me tonight, he was just slowing the pace of the game to his speed more, eg his marking then delivering excellent well timed kicks. Good to see

Watson showed his 2006 form which was great, Hille was excellent.

Courtney Johns tho, whats the big deal? He was terrible tonight, did not get involved. Mcphee has been shocking this year as well.

I would give pevs votes for trying. But he cant do anything with it. Probably one of the worst on the ground. Along with Cole. He sucks.
