From 'KC from Casey' - Demonland

@ Half time

Casey Scorpions 5.2.32 10.4.64

Geelong Cats 1.5.11 5.5.35

Jack Watts is starring with two goals..

Watts was reported to be playing mainly a midfield role (by Josh Mahoney) 'KC' also mentioned Jurrah was good in the first quarter.

Expecting a slightly bigger summary of players now it's 1/2 time.

No official stats for Jack Viney and Liam Jurrah, but word is they're both playing well. #PJVFL

Cats closing in with the first three goals of the quarter. Casey's lead down to 2 goals.

Jack Viney acquitting himself well.

and then...

Watts kicks his third - margin 19 points.

All Casey now as they lead 96 to 65 late in the quarter.

Good signs from the young un's... not the easiest place to play.

Three quarter time:

Casey Scorpions 15.6.96 to Geelong Cats 11.5.71

A couple of late goals to the Cats after Casey dominated the quarter apart from the opening five minutes

A comfortable lead.

Some potentially bad news..

Jack Viney was involved in a heavy collision going for the ball. Sickening collision. Walking the boundary line with a trainer and holding something in his mouth.

Casey leads 17.7.109 to 12.5.77 less than ten minutes into the last. #PJVFL

Gysberts broke his jaw in the first quarter apparently.
Oh for **** sake, can he please stop getting hurt?
Maybe it's the curse of Brock McLean; a good young player with plenty of talent winds up being nothing more than a VFL/depth player through injury.

A broken jaw's not the end of the world in terms of development, but he'll miss some footy.

The kid's had some absolute shit luck though.

Strong win.

Casey Scorpions 5.2.32 10.4.64 14.6.90 22.8.150

Geelong Cats 1.5.11 5.5.35 11.5.71 14.10.94

Details to follow.

At least a broken jaw wont keep them off their feet, and in Gysberts case especially, out of the weights room.

Let's be realistic here guys - while it's never good to get an injury it sounds as though Viney looked terrific and that's all we need to know. It's a shame he will be out for a month or so but he looks the goods and that's all that counts.

Gysberts is not flash either but I don't think he was going to factor in much for us this year anyway.

Great win for Casey and great signs for our players - huge plus.

It's a long season mate, Gys would have got games in the back half but I agree in the sense that he probably wouldn't have been too critical to our fortunes.

True, forget how young the season is!! I just don't think he would have played too much footy this season regardless but could have been wrong!

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for both.
