G-Train not playing- Usually kicks a bag against us and is almost always the dominant forward on the ground.

At the G. Have Saints even payed there this year?
They are good at the dome and we are rubbish there.

WALKER MAY BE BACK- HOORAH!

Should go in with almost a full list bar Bower Hadley and Houlihan.

Oh, and some bloke called Judd is back

Saints not in the greatest of form either.

Huge for Gehrig not to be playing. Averages something like 6 goals per game against us.

And I'm there,on my summer holidays from Dubai, got seats in the AFL members can't wait. I'm pumped , sitting here in 41 degrees , must buy a big Blue Duffle coat with No 4 on the back

I understand the Ants will play the next 2 weeks (ie not have a week off). Perfect timing for Walker and Bannister to get that extra game in!

Haven't knocked them over since 2001, thats a huge amount of time - this is our chance to end the run. We are in the best position to beat them since god knows when.

Lets do it!

It's about time we ____ing smash this side!! No more saving our very worst for them. Enough is enough!!

Kill 'em Blues!

Don't expect a pretty sight, Saints will flood us to death.

Then Ross lyon will come out & say "I don't instruct them to play like that".

Waite on Riewoldt
Carlos on Kosi
Carrazzo on Milne

Jamo can take their 3rd tall, whether it is Allen or Gardiner

Gibbs might get a job on one of their mids, and if Banno comes back, so might he. Perhaps one way to go is:

Gibbs on Harvey
Banno on Dal Santo

Waite on Riewoldt
Carlos on Kosi
Carrazzo on Milne

Didn't thornton towel up kosi last time?

We have to counter their ruck-midfield dominance over us. The Aints are my my hated side, besides the Swans. Both play sh!tful footy and get rewarded for it...

But the Saints I hate because they are phonies who can't even make the Grand Final!

LETS SMASH THEM AS REVENGE ON GRANT THOMAS!

We need to be on our game from the start. Far too often the Saints have got the early jump on us and we have been forced to play catch up footy.

Pretty even all over the ground. Saints love to run the ball out of the backline so if our forwards bring their defensive game then we could stop their flow to their big guys up forward.

Waite on Riewoldt. Not sure who our best match up is on Kozi. Carrazzo on the rapist. Give Grigg the job on Gram I reckon as a defensive foward, similar to the game he played on Heath Shaw in round 4.

No Baker either so no real hard tags on our mids.

This is our chance to beat these bastards!!! GO BLUES!!!!

I thought we were going to smash Essendon and we should have but didn't. We should beat the Saint's but I wouldn't count on it, if we don't we have let ourselves down.

Hi all...

From a Saint's perspective things seem to be starting to turn in a positive sense after an indifferent and up and down season up till now..

1/ Form: Lyon made a big statement by dropping Dal and Milne. This seems to have worked a treat with all players lifting. While just scraping in over Freo it was with 9 inexperienced players. Roo, BJ and Gram all returned to form.

2/ For the Blues match after the bye IMO the Saints will field it's best team for the year:
*Hayes (who is now fully recovered from his knee and has been in outstanding form) and M Gardiner will return.
*Gardiner was reaching very good form when he had his twinge. With King in very good form now as well, this gives a capable ruck division.
*Gilbert was rushed back in after a long lay off and was rusty. In the North game he seemed to be getting his touch back.
*Gram and BJ continued their return to touch. Gram's missing footskills have returned.
*Roo who has had two bouts of injury (one pre-season) has now thrown away all his bandages and is running free and kicking better. He is now back in good form and has had two BOG's in a row. With his improved fitness he is now roaming more.
* Max is in red hot form and always goes well on Fev.
*Montagna has returned to form over the last two weeks. With Sam Fisher, Gram and Goddard now also being rotated through the midfield the midfield depth has been improved.
* Ball is now winning plenty of the ball again...even if his disposal is lacking.

The defence is a mite undermanned with Maguire out. However Blake has improved and while no star has been quite steady. Importantly this is allowing Sam Fisher and others to be rotated through the midfield.

The Saints main defensive weakness with no Baker is against very talented small forwards - but this is not a strength of the Blues. Fev is, but Max plays well on Fev.

The Saints v Blues match will be won and lost in the midfield.

Cheers.

I wouldn't bring Walker back just yet, even though he will have played 2 games for the Bullants. But I would perhaps look at Bannister, as he hasn't missed as much footy. My changes would be:

In: Judd, Bannister
Out: Anderson, Russell

Not sure BHF, banno's injury was a pretty severe hammy and I dont think he would have had much run in his legs from a lengthy lay off.

Judd is a definate, maybe Walker but will have to see how he pulls up, as for who sits out, Im glad I dont have to make a call.:thumbsu:
