Round Seven proved to be a bit of a mix this week with a range of scores across the tipping group. There were a few scores of four in there by a number of tipsters but it was Falconista who had the best round, tipping all four games correctly and also picking up the bonus point to finish with a score of five points for the round.

After seven rounds, gaskin, Magnum27 and myself have a share of the lead on 24 points while there's a tie for fourth place between another group of three in RickSanchez, samFFC and Spanna_ on 23 points.

Round Eight Fixtures

Subiaco vs East Fremantle at Leederville Oval (2:30pm)
Claremont vs West Perth at Revo Fitness Stadium (2:30pm)
South Fremantle vs East Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (2:35pm)
Swan Districts vs Perth at Steel Blue Oval (3:05pm, margin)
Bye: Peel Thunder

Round Eight is approaching with all four matches to take place on Saturday afternoon this week. The first game of the round sees Subiaco taking on East Fremantle at Leederville Oval. Subiaco did what they had to do last week, notching up an important win over Perth to keep themselves in the hunt for the top four and they'll face that situation again this week as they take on the Sharks who put up a strong challenge against Claremont last week before just falling short in what was the match of the day. There's certainly been some improvement in the Sharks this season and they'll be primed to take on the Lions in what is looking like a great match-up for the afternoon.

Claremont host West Perth in a big game at Revo Fitness Stadium. Claremont snuck home against the Sharks last week and head into the game needing to win to have any chance of a top two finish with the Tigers having the bye in the final round. West Perth could just about secure a top two berth and the coveted double chance with victory so both clubs have plenty to play for in what is sure to be an enthralling match-up on Saturday afternoon.

South Fremantle will battle against East Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval in the next game in Round Eight. Souths got the job done against Peel Thunder last week but could have won by a fair bit more with some wayward kicking early in the game keeping the match close. A strong last quarter saw the Bulldogs kick away though and remain undefeated in Season 2020. East Perth brought up a good win over Swan Districts in the previous round, keeping their chances of playing in the finals in tact. The Royals have improved a lot in 2020 but face a huge test against the ladder leading Bulldogs, one they need to win to keep their top four hopes going into the final round so expect them to have a red hot crack here.

The TV game this week and the margin game for the round takes place at Steel Blue Oval with Swan Districts to lock horns with Perth. Swans haven't had a great 2020 thus far but with two games to go, they'll be looking rebound in a good way and take it right up to Perth who sit in fourth spot at the present time. The Demons had a big chance to just about seal a finals berth last week but couldn't quite go with Subiaco who burst out of the blocks early. Perth will probably need to win at least one more game to play finals this season and they'll be looking to do that this week against Swans with Subiaco and East Perth snapping at their heels. The telecast of this game gets underway at 3pm on Channel Seven with bouncedown scheduled for 3:05pm.

The Reserves has four games this week with Peel Thunder having the bye, all matches will get underway at 12pm except the Swan Districts vs Perth match which has a start time of 12:20pm. In the Colts, it's a fairly similar story, all matches will begin at 9:30am, expect the Swan Districts vs Perth fixture which has a later start time of 9:50am.

The weather this Saturday is looking very good with a mostly sunny day and 23 degrees expected. A minimum of nine degrees is expected in the morning so you might need a jacket or jumper for the games earlier in the day.

Just two rounds to go and we've got six teams vying for four finals spots. Round Eight is going to be a big one and will help shape the eight as we head into the last couple of home and away rounds in Season 2020. The weather is looking great so hopefully we'll see some high quality footy this weekend. Happy tipping!!
