Take it as a screamer Mr. Waite and come back in two nice and fresh and hungrier. :thumbsu:

Motlop's blatant charge in the first quarter was far worse than Jarrad's.

Cannot believe he didn't even get looked at.

Waite didn't have intent, Motlop sure did.

However, two weeks is about right. Sad to see him get suspended just as he was coming good.

I'm actually happy with the outcome... I knew he was gonna get weeks... to get only 2 is a win imo... I thought with his bad record the least he'll get is 4 downgraded to 3 with an early plea

He'll fight it. Will not play or shouldn't if they're legit.

2 weeks is a fair result. Looks like they took into account the fact that Davenport was pulled down as Waite went in. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it goes with head high contact these days :(

Jarrad Waite, Carlton, has been charged with a Level Three engaging in rough conduct offence against Jason Davenport, Port Adelaide, during the third quarter of the Round Eight match between Carlton and Port Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Sunday May 16, 2010.

In summary, he can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has one match suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 10 per cent to 357.50 points and a three-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 268.13 points and a two-match sanction.

From AFL website.

an annoying lost but we played most of last year with out him. if hendo can step up we will still win (y)

Made the decision to bump. Just bad luck if circumstances make it worse than intended. Was thinking he might have carry over points and get 3 so 2 is reasonable.

Stupid rule, but 2 weeks is better than 3. Probably not a disaster giving him a break during his comeback from the knee reco.

Interesting to see who get's the 2nd KP forward gig. Hendo? Or perhaps a wildcard and bring in Hampson and push Kruezer or Hampson forward.

Will be interesting.

:)

I cant see how Waite gets 2 and Motlop gets nothing for a couple of dangerous things... the shoulder charge on someone who is in the air was reckless and extremely dangerous (it's why rugby union players get yellow cards if they tackle someone in the air) and the blatent jumper punch he threw at Carrots in front of the umpire should have been worthy of at least a week as well.

Didnt Bannister get a couple of weeks for one against the filth a few years back? So the precedent is there so why wasnt he done up?

Ohh hang on... it was a Carlton player.

WTF? Motlop's bump was fair and good. Don't let your bias cloud your judgement.

Waite should accept the suspension. This is the sort of incident the AFL & the tribuneral are trying to remove from the game and are acting accordingly.
It is 3 matches reduced to 2 with an early plea by the way.
