Wally/s son

He'd be worth a short comeback wouldn't he? Just a couple of minutes game time, for say 7 games. Something like that. A senior player giving some off the bench mentoring to the young guys.

Indeed, purely to educate the young fellas. :)
Brandon is not eligible until 2010 though

Even in the reserves? Do reserves games count? Or I reckon we can find some discrepancy with the records and find an extra 7 games.

Wally used to be my back neighbour. Young Brandon was forever kicking balls over our fence as a little midget, was in training very early.

Only games played prior to 1995 count. We'd need to fudge the records.

Yup, under the R.Kelly concession GC are likely take him next year as one of their 12 x 17yr olds born between Jan - April 1992.

He has apparently said no, and is allowed to take his chance in the 2010 draft, where he could still be picked up by GC

Would be kinda silly for GC to pick him up if he's stated he doesn't want to be there.

Where does he want to be then? Most draftees don't end up where they want to.
But think about it, if you handed a 17 year old kid a contract and said "Welcome to the AFL, son" and he declined, why would you use a valuable draft pick on him?

I'm guessing if we had handed a 17yo Pav a contract (assuming we were starting up then) there's every chance he would have declined and taken his chances in the draft to get to a more established club (or better yet, a hometown club).

Drafting him 'against his will' didn't work out too bad in the end.

When I coached him a bit when he was about 7-8, he was comparatively much darker.

Good to see he has seen the white in his preparation for going to the Eagles. :thumbsu:
