Surprise!
Even a dummy can come in now and coach St Kilda better than Ross Lyon... atleast players would try and do something to win... rather than just "sticking to the gameplan"

We are much better off without one of Ross's.

I do note that st kilda actually won a few times against Sydney (incl. finals) when Ross Lyon was "assistant coach"... and barring injuries would have even won the 2005 PF.... so definitely, the players could play better without him.

I swear this man is a tool. He's pile driven our club into a heap of shit.

The "still adjusting to the new gameplan" excuse is old.

For one, there is no gameplan!

Two, if he knew how to coach it would had been drilled into their heads by now.

Three, if it's the 22 players that can't adapt to the plan, CHANGE IT! 1 1/2 years to learn something essentially as easy as a song is ridiculous.

This club is going to lose members and supporters and as much as it pains me to say it the club is going to find it self in the same position the Roos were in, For however long this dick is in charge.

Btw if you can;t tell i'm ____ing pissed, as should every St. Kilda supporter should be at the moment.

Let it all out in this thread.:thumbsu::)

So Harvey played and got injured? If this is the case, someone should be taken out the back and dealt with. Who cares if he got through training? Clearly a conservative approach needed to be taken given the history, his age, and the fact we were travelling.

I feel your pain CH. Were just not good enough. Its not just the coach though, alot of our players are very ordinary. Dont forget for the last half of last season we were playing some very good football under ross lyon. thats why alot of people picked us to be top 4 this year. The players just cant seem to gel.

Sorry, I have to defend RL here. He changed the structure of your team around at 1/2 time and it worked. Just a poor last few minutes undid all the good work and basically killed the game off then.

This sort of a phoney comebacks which fall short have been happening for the last 6-7 games.

played good football against poor and tanking sides,so we were good enough second half last year ,but not good enough now,WHY?

We only got back in the game in the third quarter because Sydney missed a lot of easy shots on goal.

Milne in the back pocket? Montagna at Full back? These things happened late in the third quarter. Crap.

Is there something in Milne's contract which requires him to travel periodically? At some point we (the coaches) need to appreciate that he doesn't stump up interstate. Playing Harvs when under duress was just dumb.

Exactly right. Carlton have half the list we have. Ratten has coached them for half the time Ross has coached us. Yet The Blues already know their own gameplan and have won more games than us. The "adjusting to the gameplan" excuse is pure rubbish, he's a hack of a coach and should be sacked immediately. I'm sick of hearing the old "sacking coaches all the time doesn't get you anywhere", this time it has become apparant that he's no good. For the good of the club he must go.

It's hard not to look at the facts.
GT's last year had a horrible run of injuries, we still made finals.
RL came in, still had a bad run of injury + new game plan so everyone cut him some slack even though we didn't make the 8.
2008, improved list, manageble injuries and we are worse than the previous 2 years, even comparing teams/games that had basically the same players in 2006.
It is bad that we have sacked so many coaches over the years, and it would be good to have a coach for an extended period, but that does not mean that we have selected a good coach on this occasion, and that sacking him would not be a solution answer. ( Unlike the GT sacking I would also suggest that we have someone in mind prior to the sacking).

I just wanted to throw these comments in, as the Saints need to stop using media statements as "motivation".

“The time has come for the [Ben] McEvoy's and the [Brad] Howards." I'd question singling out these two who are not ready, and it's an unnecessary smack for Birss and Armitage who don't seem to deserve this in addition to being dropped.

"I can't accept continually losing and going in with the same cattle." Ross - I hate the word cattle.

“We judge everyone on the ability they have and what they delivered tonight. So if you don't meet your ability you're going to be under some pressure and we're going to make some changes." Disturbing that we only now seem to be employing this theory.

“We need to BLOOD more [kids]. We need to get a BLOOD transfusion into the group to get some enthusiasm and energy.” Sounds like a hospital ward (although from the injury list, probably not far off). Careful Ross, it may indeed get bloody.

While admitting he would begin playing a few more inexperienced players, Lyon said he had not given up on the finals, with his side still ninth on 20 points. But if you are going with inexperienced players you take a risk. Ross does not need to keep talking about finals - just that we need to start playing good footy.

Lyon explained that one of the current problems with the Saints was that the team was “predictable” and lacked pace. No shit - but where are the match day moves before this week? Sam Fisher would be a great forward, but we seem too worried it might not work out. In fact, this sums us up at the minute - more worried about what bad things might happen.

We need a coach who demands the respect of the players, so if they bugger up they know they will be blasted and if they break team rules they will be dropped. Preferably a champion player who can start turning our players into champion players. Ross is i trouble at the moment, and his biggest problem is team selection - how he dropped Armitage last week, yet keeps playing dud Blake week in week out, simply proves how negative he is.

I want a coach with a mind like a diamond
I want a coach who knows whats best
I want a coach with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes
I want a coach with the right allocation

Who uses a machetti to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass
he is fast, thorough, and sharp as a tack
he is touring the facility and picking up slack
I want a coach with a short skirt,
And a long, long jacket
