went to the game today at Camberwell. It was a good game, however a few skill errors (which youd expect from any game of T20). The Scorchers started slowly, with both Villani and Bolton losing their wickets early. Bates was the mainstay of our innings for a bit until she got out on 25. Graham got out shortly after on 30 and we were reeling at 4/66. In comes the veteran Ebsary who, along with English international Katherine Brunt, got us into a reasonably good position with 5/101 at the start of the 16th, when Ebsary got out. Brunt was unfortunately run out in the 19th over, when Piparo hit it straight back to Strano, who effected the run out. Perth finished on 7/131 off their 20. Strano, Tahuhu and Molineux were the pick of the bowlers, with 2/18, 1/20 and 2/21 from their full quotas.

The Gades started slowly like Perth and it wasnt long before the Scorchers got their first wicket, as Molineux tried to go big too early and skied it to backward point. Danni Wyatt was promoted to number 3 and started slowly as the Scorchers were on target with their bowling. Priest didnt really get going as she was out in the 9th over for 20. Maitlan Brown was batting 4 and tried to get some quick runs, but holed out to deep mid wicket for a golden duck. It was a really impressive catch by Bolton, diving backwards, after the Scorchers had dropped 2 or 3 reasonably easy chances. In comes Kris Britt, who despite all her experience, couldnt get going as she was run out on 8. This left the Gades reeling at 4/68 after 13 overs, still needing around 10 an over to win the game. Grace Harris comes to the crease and gets a decent partnership going with Wyatt, until she gets run out trying to get a quick single. It was a messy run out and they only just crossed. Molly Strano joins Harris at the crease as they needed 36 off the last 4 overs. a couple of big overs from Harris off the bowling of Heather Graham and Elyse Villani sees the Gades win the unlikeliest game.

Grace finishing on 39 off 17 balls, while Strano made 13 off 7. Emma King the pick of the bowlers with 2/30 from her 4.

comp is very close at the minute. only 1 game separating 1st and 7th, with only the Renegades way off the pace.
however, the Gades look to be getting into some form currently and the Stars were way off the pace against the Scorchers at Toorak.

expecting todays game to be very close.

true, but the Gades have been docked 0.5 points somewhere along the line, so that needs to be factored in for any possible finals calculations.

Don't understand the Renegades lineup. Are Wearham, Goodwin and Plane specialist fielders? They rarely bowl and are so low in the batting order, one can only presume they're not very good.
Goodwin is their 3rd seamer. Plane and Wareham are young bowlers, who are overtaken by the more experienced bowlers in Strano, Tahuhu and Wyatt

Wow, Satterthwaite what's going on there. Runout opportunity goes unbungled this time, but really she should've been out twice now. Guess all is forgiven if she can hit them home like Grace Harris the other day, but that's a very long shot now.

"Ian Healy's daughter goes alright" - Andy Maher just making a fool of himself as usual.

Anyone see that runout/stumping - that should be out IMO

Blackwell shouldn't have retracted that - she has every right to go for the ball

Yes, very peculiar from Blackwell. Just as strange was McGlashan's apparent lack of effort to scramble back into her crease!

ashleigh gardner one to watch. 13 matches, 13 sixes including 5 in her last innings. could have had more player of the matches but for being on the losing side a few times. bats 31.8 @ 122, 8 wickets @ 25.
absolutely, she can hit a very long ball!

some very good games today!

Heat chased down 139 with 9 wickets in hand and 30 balls to spare against the Strikers. Beth Mooney made 75 off 47
The Gades chased down 148 with 10 balls to spare. corbies' mate Maitlan Brown was player of the match, with 1/21 off 4 and 30* off 15

Perth made 5/149 with Villani making 74 off 55 with the Thunder 1/35 in reply.
The Hurricanes are currently 2/70 in the 10th over against the Stars (1st innings)

just wished they telecasted some of these on free to air TV, as they would have been great games to watch
