Ok, consider this update as a progress newsletter
. Our start to the season proper has been bittersweet. We started off well in round 1 thrashing the Allies by 5 wickets but our last game was dismall, this time we were the ones being thrashed by the Vics
.
I've gone over the games a bit and looked at the stats of the WC team (http://bigfootyca.topcities.com/stats_overall_04_wcw.html) and one thing is blatantly obvious, the batsmen bat like bloody sloths. The batsmen with the most runs so far is Esperito (Allrounder), followed by yours truly then another allrounder (ONE EYE). THAT IS CRAP! We call ourselves professional batsmen and allrounders can beat us! We really need to step up our game

The bowlers so far have been bowling fairly well. I think our bowling is the strong point of the team. From what I have seen in the practice matches though, is even if you have a good bowling line up, they can still get thrashed. For a side to do well they have to have an equally good batting line up. Our allrounders are handy to us being capable of bowling and batting and both have done so quite well so far.
I noticed that the Allies team was able to accept CJ as an extra player so I am appealing to any new WC forum contributor (or someone who missed out) who has a passion in cricket to join our team. We desperately need another pure batter. I had fears at the start of the season about our short batting line up against quality team like Victoria and how we would struggle. Yes we will beat teams like SA and the Allies but to be number 1 we have to beat Victoria and that wont happen with our current line up. People that contribute on this forum which aren't in the team are:

One of you must be a cricket supporter willing to join our team. Im not sure if WCE2000 will allow any more people in a team but I really hope he does cause I think the team desperately needs another pure batsmen. In any of our current games we have four pure batsmen and then we are allready into the allrounders which isn't good. We only need 5 bowlers for a match so there is no point in playing two allrounders which makes six bowlers if one of the allrounders doesn't bowl. We may as well get a new pure batsmen and the allrounders rotating. Anyway hope you managed to read all that. Please notify me WCE2000 if we can't accept new players but I can tell you know I will ignore you from then on if you do
