Was going to post the same.

Good idea, probably hasn't been tried before to use excrement to stop the ball coming in to Riewoldt. Glad that we're thinking outside the square.

... and people thought that MM was past it. The man's a genius! :thumbsu:

Unbelievable!

Not only has ol' MM invented a new defensive set-up over night..."the shit down" but he's dropped Heater and Jack.:eek::eek::eek:

This is going to be a ****en massive conundrum for the the Anti-MM squad. All bases covered in a single selection meeting.

Leaves em screwed if we win and screwed if we lose....lol.

He's obviously moved Leigh Brown to FF to really turn the knife.

Go Pies.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

“I think most sides struggle with Nick but we’re going to back our defence and hopefully we can shit down the ball use that comes in from their midfield and try to restrict them that way,” Pendlebury said.
I just wanted to make sure the quote is there for us all to read, even after they notice and decide to sanitise it on afl.com.au. :)

Actually, there are new sig opportunities there. :D

My view on this weeks selection is that it was both done very carefully but also very cleverly.

Like the move of Macaffer to Full Forward. As good of a kick as JA on goal but also has the flexibility around the ground to play other roles when Leigh Brown moves forward.

Leigh Brown is a nice one because he can move down back if he needs to or otherwise if Riewoldt and others are being well contained (to whatever extent which is considered objectively winning).

Nick Maxwell could very well be our best Riewoldt matchup with Reid and N.Brown probably not quite ready (hopefully will be by end of year).

This game we have heavily loaded the midfield for a monster rotation game so watch for that. We have come out with our team tough to take on the leagues toughest midfield in a respect.

Structurally it is quite well done with heaps of flexibility to chop and change lineups if working. But yet very much experimental with a hint of wish and hope.

I like the emergencies as they are all players representing the areas with which this week we have a deficit. (Buckley = running back) - With Shaw + Johnson injuried. (Dawes = KPF) - With basically a forward down. ala JA. (And Reid = CHP) - Taken out of the team going with a midget backline to match our midget forwardline.

While I think this will be a very interesting game I'm going with St Kilda by around 20 points. The loss of Shaw for this game will show heavily in terms of our drive from defense with Harry O'Brien probably the man who will be relieved on in particular to step into that role along with Wellingham.
