Crushing wasn't it, but when it came to the final round we couldnt knock them out. Some things we did today were good, others bad. IMO this contributed to our downfall in the 4th qtr---
we could have done better in the ruck, how much did Cox dominate around the ground in the 4th quarter?? he killed- its not as if we shouldnt have expected this, what was pagen thinking leaving mclaren out?, he could have given french a time to rest, prenda couldnt cope (also cant kick to save himself)
Why was cory mcgrath left on embley in the 4th? there were signs he was getting beaten & a height and weight disadvantage- yet he was left on him. Embley kicked 2 goals 3 all in the 4th, and he could have easily been more accurate and buried us earlier.
walker got dominated by cousins in the qtr
will it be the best we will play all season? and is it enough for pagan and the boys to say we gave it a go against the premiership favourites? How would you like pagan to address the troops at the end of this match? personally id like him to get stuck into them

They'd be feeling pretty bad as it is, without getting a barrage from the coach. I'd want him to contragulate them on the efforts, mention the last qaurter briefly , and adress it through the week.

yeh, i may have been a little angry at the time lol. with some breathing techniques i have calmed down a bit. i spose an out and out blast would be too harsh, but he would have to let them know the 4th qtr was pretty bad, even though we knew the rush would come

Just seen Pagan's "5th Quarter" on Foxtel. Very down and out, like all of us, but he emphasised that a lot of the youngs players will learn alot from this defeat. They gave it their all and just didn't have the run in their legs at the end. I agree, I couldn't understand McGrath on Embley, and Cousins got away from Walker in the last Quarter. Maybe they should have closed up the game at about the 20 min mark and tried to hold on. They will beat a few sides in the second half of the season if they play like they did today. I thought our best players were....Lance, Murphy, Scotland, Fev for his 6 goals and Wiggo early on. Happy with Russell's game, did some nice things. Can't say anymore, I'm too shattered.

what did you think they would be beaten by before they went out there
what a great effort to be still in front in time on in the last term you should be proud but still you blame players and Pagan
Pagan should be proud and should pass that on to the players as they gave their all we should all be proud that is if you are true blue but guess you simply aint

I agree, i think the players know that they let a good opportunity slip, I would want Pagan to mention what we did to get 44pts up and tell them thats what they have to do for 4qtrs in order to win games.

I'm proud of em!

But it does hopefully start to give supporters more faith and show that Pagan is sticking to his guns and perhaps we're starting to see the fruit of his labour.

I'm devastated but in a way my spirits are lifted!

Go blues!

Just a sensational effort ... and wasnt it good to see our boys backing themselves in and playing fast attacking football?

A bit stiff with some decisions late in the game, some guns from a great opposition started to get a hold of a lot of the ball and the home crowd just caught up with us.

A win would've been great, but with a young side it's about learning, building confidence and understanding what needs to be done to match it with the best.

Great signs ... Fevola, Murphy, Whitnall, Scotland, Walker, Stevens, Betts, Russell ...

I was absolutely shattered when West Coast hit the front. I went from jumping up and down, to tears swelling.

You can only be proud of the boys, that was so much better then sitting thru a 100 point spanking that I honestly expected.

We didn't make to many errors (it seemed) and we played attacking footy, it was great to watch.

I really hope, that next week, we realise how well we did and we can gain confidence. But a loss like this, can lose you confidence.

eagles are an awesome side and we gave it to them and had them worried im sure.i thought we would be beaten by heaps, but just because we werent doesnt mean i cant be annoyed, or that im not a 'true blue'. we lost, that doesnt mean im not proud of some of the performances.

just a side note- how pumped up did you get after fevs goal before the siren - he is magic sometimes, and this season has been a real superstar and is great to see

Dead proud of the boys today, can't have done much better (well, they could have one, but i'm not complaining). To come so close against the weagles over in the weagle coast is brilliant!:)

I was impressed with Larnce, Wiggo, Fev, Smurphy, Scotland, Eddie and HOula for his hip and shoulder and finally waking out of his bong-tupor to show some sort of intimidating presence. Thats it.

Prenda and Livo were terrible, Kouta did nothing, Lappin was in and out, Stevens was accountable at least, the rest were like they are each week.

If I were Pagan I'd just say: "Well guys, you're all obviously used to this losing attitude, aren't you? Coz you still get yr 5 or 10 or 50 grand a game, so you still come out winners, anyway..."

I mean really, those Far-king Weagles just have more balls, they are more developed and talented men, than our motely crue. They are just better footballers and they were really arrogant starting the game, hence we got the jump, and losing it the way we did makes it @!#@#$%$#^$%^!#W$#%#$W^..sorry gotta take the chill-pill now...

We did well. Devastating result i know, makes me wanna cry but every true carlton supporter will be devastated for a week or a bit more but we will get over it, just like round 11 2002, ricardi after the siren or when west coast beat us by 1 point in 2003 or something like that

We can at least see now that we have a lot of talent in the side and what we can work on. It was also great to see several players wearing heart monitors so i guess they will be able to see what part of their running game they can improve on.

I am sooooo proud of Carlton, everyone said we would get thrashed but we played awesome. We can get a lot out of this game.

It is only collingwood supporters who stoop low enough to question the loyalty of other supporters. You are no more loyal than the next person and these types of coments only serve to emphasise this.
We dont eat our own.
Nough said.

We all know where carlton has been, a dark place, and Pagan has the ability to pull stuff out like this when he wants to.
