Great news for Lucas. I feel really bad for Jetta, he always seems to be the scapegoat.

expect him to play down back ... because on that "list" mcveigh and stanton are in the backline too. With mchpee a liability and hocking probably going to play up the ground as a first choice tagger, expect scotty to slot in at Centre-Half .... BACK.

Disagree. Needed to get some confidence back up in his own ability, and VFL is where he can do a few tricks and experiment. Then once he regains confidence, it would then be appropriate to bring him back into the senior side. His last couple of weeks simply haven't been up to scratch.

fantastic comeback for Scotty Lucas. To all the doubters who said he was struggling in the VFL and didn't deserve an AFL recall.. what they didn't consider was that everyone else in the Bendigo Bombers side was struggling.

The form of scotty today was almost enough to make me not care about the loss (he's been my favorite player for a looong time).
I noticed one thing about his game. He just had a career best stat -- handballs. Beat his old best of 9 HBs by 2 (11).

Was certain he would have to come back in at some stage. Even kept him in SC.

He is giving the selectors a reason to drop Neagle. I think we will be a lot more attacking with two talls in our forward line.

I think that he is handballing more because he has lost some confidence in his kicking.

I think he is handballing more because it suits our style of play, the style of play of the modern game and he has reinvented himself out of the one trick pony, 'wheel onto the left foot for a 60m bomb' forward.

I would have thought that there was a combination of both these factors leaning towards the second one. His main left foot weapon has been weakened along with our completely new way of playing has forced him to change the way he plays -- the mark of a champion who can adapt their game as they get older and seeing him play the way has on the weekend me convinced he might be able to play on in 2010
