or Darren Jolly
Haha.:o

Witts wore 18 the VFL, totally forgot about Jols.:o

Marty will need to find a new number, no matter what, number 9 perhaps?

Pretty good trade considering it's a fairly weak draft, although i have no idea who or what Jamie Elliot is, those profiles don't really give much away. Interesting to see how Marty goes after his hiatus

Not very happy we spent pick 25

He better not crack the sads like last time and walked out when he can not get a game

In this draft pick 67 is just as likely to get you as good a player as you could from 25.
Slight exaggeration, but you get my drift, it's a very shallow draft and we've managed to get a youngin and a somewhat proven player with the pick, i'm happy with it.

Pick 25 might end up worth it when the Steak Knives (Elliott) turns into Hirdy hahaha

Who knows what could happen with the mid 60s pick. Hine will have someone salted away for us to get a hold of.

BTW on the numbers wouldn't Marty have the option of 35, as he's effectively our first national draft pick? Or will that be another high pick with a much greater risk than "The Fas" or actually getting a game.

pick 25 is a big pick to give up but if hines rates elliot at a second rounder then we have got clarke for a downgrade of picks i guess. doubt gws would use pick 67 but still good to have a small upgrade of picks

Nah, it's like Krakouer from last year, Marty isn't a draft pick, he's a trade, so who ever we get with our first pick (whenever that may be) will get 35.:)

I'm guessing that interview was recorded before today, as Elliot was 'acquired this week' and he had a meeting with Buckley last week.

Seems Jake Niall was on the money last week.

Pretty good news.

Marty will need to work harder this time around, plateaued slightly after coming along in leaps and bounds in his first year, plus we are much stronger now.

Would everybody be happy if we traded back Ryan Cook with pick 25

Because these two are simular age and were in the VFL when Marty left

Bugger I heard Elliott was like James Hird.

Now we got Stephen Milne.

Where's the receipt? I want a refund hahaha

In all seriousness, getting Marty is great. He knows the club, the culture, how hard he needs to work, and will inspire our other Irish investment to work his socks off. Buckley will have to do a great work to get him over the line again, but who knows, a new voice, new motivation, it would be good for someone other than Heath Scotland and Mal Michael to prove Mick wrong.
