I assume 'The site runs like a pig' is still an open issue? Pages regularly take 20 - 60 seconds to open up. This is across different browsers and from my work and home PC's (both on ADSL2 and lightning fast to access other sites at the same time, so it's not a 'your connection is slow problem').

Yeah, the new forum once it's loaded is all good, but I thought one of the main reasons for moving was performance. And that's markedly down from the old site.

Nah, it's consistent no matter what pages I'm going to. Not a random combination of ads. I get it even going into forum pages, not just threads. And they are usually ad-free. Just lucky I guess

Think it needs a plugin. I know the fantasy mods have raised it with Chief so its on the radar.

Andre that's really strange. Aside from the ad issue, most people have been reporting vastly improved load times. Chief may be able to provide more insight.

We're making some changes to usergroups soon which might resolve a few things. We'll see how it goes.

Ok, problem solved. Running firefox where it comes up with what's holding it up, rather than a generic 'sending request' it was the tags.expo9... etc. site. Putting https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/account/upgrades on chrome and it flies along. I don't mind ad's in the normal run of things, and understand they help keep the site up. Unless / until they stop it from being blazing fast vs. painfully slow I won't be viewing them again though.

Youtube embedded link has the following errors in Firefox (on my PC that is):
- Can't maximise the window to fullscreen
- When you select to copy the link from YT, the whole flash window moves across to the left pane
- Cannot play once paused
- Right click seems to only display half the text box, not all options.

My Adobe Flash is up to date.

Chief - some more details on the Error message I get more often than not when trying to quote/reply etc.
see Post 1186 for snip of it.
I am not the only one (Carlton feedback thread found another one at least)

I have noticed when it is most likely to occur and a strange phenomena that accompanies it
It nearly always happens if I am Multi-quoting ie the 2nd quote can take a few Error messages before coming up.
STRANGE PHENOMENA I have noticed is that sometimes (esp after I have just posted or have started to post with a quote) the whole screen (not just my post) goes from being Left aligned (normal) to Centre aligned looking like this:
___________________"not that noticeable except on last lines of paragraphs"__________________

Now when it does this switch to centre aligned I do not think I have ever been able to 2nd quote or make a post without refreshing the page to get it back to normal left alignment!

A weird one that's only been happening the last couple of weeks - when I click on someone's avatar to bring up the mini profile, the shadowed box behind all the info doesn't appear - so it's white text which can't be read. I click the X button, click on the avatar again and this time it does appear! If I click on someone else's avatar it will as well. It appears to be that the first click on each page won't register properly, but every subsequent click on the same page will. Go to the next page, same cycle.

Anyone else having this problem?

Chief what happens with card listings. You know on the old forum you had red card or yellow card written under your name? Does this still apply? I haven't seen it at all.

Sometimes if I edit a post I get the entire page on 'centre alignment'.

LOL just went to quote this and got error message and everything was centre aligned when I closed error message - I did not refresh just tried quote again and it quoted (have found lately that centre aligning does not always mean you must refresh to get things to work).
I have not edited lately (don't make many mistakes Chief ) but I will keep an eye on it (maybe I will try and edit this once I have posted it)
Centre aligning and Error messages still occur as often as not when trying to quote or post.
One just has to grin and bear it
