He’s just a ****ing gun. Ball use top notch, tough as nails, clean as all hell. He has everything you want in a proper A Grade star midfielder. His connection with meek was a joy to watch and his ball use particularly just seriously elite. Gonna be a huge player.

• Ward clocked the 2nd fastest speed on the ground(!)
• Excluding the Dogs’ sub, Ward had the equal highest average speed in defence.

Those are two very good metrics to see from a young midfielder…

P.S. was our top disposal getter (with 28) - unsure if he’s done that before?

Second highest career disposals, had 34 touches in his first year once.

I really hope this is the shift from him realising he can contribute at AFL level to knowing he can be elite. Has been building up to this performance for a month, if he can do it more consistently our midfield future looks bright.

His ability to collect the ball from the centre clearance, and deliver a low, flat, laser bullet inside 50 while running at top pace is his speciality.

He is starting to become really safe with his contested ground ball gets in defence as well.
His tackling and defensive running are always a great bonus for such an attacking weapon.

Easily our most improved player. And it doesn't look like he is stopping any time soon.
