Congratulations West Coast, a famous victory. Could be the start of a new era. Darn it, you had some good players today. Particularly,Gardiner, Cousins, Kerr and Jakovich. Wirrpunda flashed into the game exactly as required and Wilson was excellent, constantly presenting himself. You beat us at our own game of harrassing and constant pressure, to the extent we were kicking the ball just anywhere. Maybe, if you look at our last game against Western Bulldogs, not such a surprise. Where did you get all those tall blokes who kept popping up? See ya' in the finals, not to mention later in the home and away.

Absolutely right. I know I have been very self-centred, having a good old sook about the record and losing and stuff, but I was impressed with the Eagles today. You guys did what even Essendon couldn't. Showed a lot of guts, a lot of passion and for being prepared to take us on, you walked away with the win. That is something to be very proud of, and trust me that is a very difficult thing for me to say right now!!!!!!

Wow!! Have to admit that i went to the game today hoping that we could at least match it with the Lions for 4 quarters

To come back with the win is amazing!! No amount of words can express how well the players did today

We came within 4 goals with ken judge as coach, so I knew we could cause an upset if Brisbane took us lightly. Not too sure if they did, or we were too strong but this was the best win we've had since the Essendon victory in 1999.

This win felt almost too good to be true. We have stopped the best team in the competitions long winning streak, not just a small win but almost 8 goals. Hang on, I thought we were crap and we were wooder spoon contenders - I'm going to find the people that said that this week and make them eat their words!

Josh Wooden - you also made me very proud. But the team as a whole can hold their heads up high for that performance!

Yeah, well, I've said for a long time that I am sick of crap that get's slung from both sides of the fence...when we are playing each other it doesn't bother me but some of the stupid remarks that pop up at other times gimme the willies...

That said and done, I prefer to give credit where it is due, and it was definitely due today.

As the loss REALLY starts sinking in, the initial stunned disbelief is still here, but the pressure is well and truly off us now!!!!! I was actually talking to a friend at work yesterday, she was saying we'd go through the season unbeaten and I said to her that I was really desperate for a loss, because I didn't know anymore how to deal with EVERYONE looking at us.

But the thing is, we didn't lose. We were beaten. Outclassed by miles. All day, we were beaten. I heard and saw many many Eagles fans totally enjoying the entire match, and rightly so. I wanted the record to very selfishly stick it up the AFL for screwing my Roys over, but it wasn't to be. A better side made sure of that.

I don't think they did. I only heard the last quarter and a half on ABC Radio, but it sounds as if the Eagles were too strong and committed.

I actually don't support the Eagles, i am a Kangaroos member (and not just a 'supporter'). Therefore i don't go near this particular forum, but having heard the match against the Lions i had to post a message congratulating the Eagles on their fantastic win. I admit i tipped the Lions, but i am full of praise on how Worsfold coached his team to such a great win. He is coaching a list that if it sticks together will form the nucleus of a champion side. Players like Judd and Kerr can be absolute champion. I am a big fan of Judd and was hoping that the Eagles would choose Steven Armstrong instead of Judd so we would have a chance of picking him, but having said that i would still be happy to get Armstrong. Anyway like i said a few times congrats to the Eagles!

Browny was very quiet unfortunately, but many players for the Lions didnt really seem to be there to play. Simon Black had his worst game for a very long time!

A truly fantastic game for us WCW supporters. After 2 years of KJ he was excorcised.
But there is no doubt that Brisbane are a highly skilled team and this will be one of their few losses this year. Good luck to them and I echo the thoughts of others as to the good sportsmanship of their supporters on this board.
