Here here.
He has his critics on here, but I've stuck and might finally get rewarded.
I would also like to applaud Leigh Brown, who is starting to win me over (I have been a sceptic) and played his best at AFL level today IMO.

What? You are finally coming around to thinking that Brown will be a good player for us. :D

AGREED
Brown has always been a better and smarter player than Watt. Brown killed Fevola cos he know's how to play footy. Watt was good yesterday cos he was able to run around and not get caught in one on one situations where he is hopeless!!

Watt was very impressive.. if he plays up the ground from now on.. and plays consistently like that- then he would be noted as a good player.

Go Roos

I loved the way he took on the opposition with his sprints down the ground
he has speed as an asset and should use it as much as possible
Best game of his career to me

I'm happy to admit being a critic of his AT FULL BACK. He was great today, a little further away from goal, and I hope he keeps up the good work next week. He may cop a run with role on Goodes. Browney on Big Barry would be interesting.

How do people think we'll line up against the Swans big guns?

Brown will get Hall (with help from Colbert), and Pratt will get Nick Davis. They are the two main worries in Sydney's forward line.

Watt was Dench-like with some of those runs today.

I was actually surprised when Brown went to Fevola and Watt went to Fatboy. I guess sometimes mismatches can work in your favour and these two certainly were well thought out by Laidley. Excellent coaching.

I thought Brown was the obvious choice for Fevola and Watt did well but Pagan helped us by playing Whitnall at CHB on occasions.

I'll say I lost my faith in Watt as our full back after some inept perfromances in the Wiz Cup. This was after three years of hoping he'd be given a fair crack at it, as it is a tough possie to nail. But he sowed nothing to suggest he's learnt anything from two full years on the last line.

But after his game on Whitnall, perhaps CHB is his go. Trent Croad was excellent for Hawthorn there last year, and Shannon is probably more like him than any other CHB in the league. They are able to use their athleticism without their deficiencies in contested situations being so glaring down the ground. Was a very good performance by Shannon on Saturday.
