purplesoul said:Go outside and you would find that there still is (just) at 5.30pm in winter.

The sun can still be up ie: not set, but there is no sunshine, because it is overcast, cloudy, or raining, got it now.mantis said:No, to try & get through to idiots. The sun can still be up ie: not set, but there is no sunshine, because it is overcast, cloudy, or raining, got it now.

The same could then be said for summer DST.
mantis said:Gawd it's hard, no it can't, because the sun is in a different position in summer, the reason why it is hot in summer & cold in winter, you get more overcast days when you hardly even see the sun in winter, let alone sunshine.
purplesoul said:You are right, it is damn hard. Most days in winter are not overcast and raining. What are you talking about, hardly ever see sun in winter?
Having lived in Perth for nearly my entire life, I can assure you that you get plenty of sunny days in winter. Not as many as in summer, but still plenty.mantis said:Gawd it's hard, no it can't, because the sun is in a different position in summer, the reason why it is hot in summer & cold in winter, you get more overcast days when you hardly even see the sun in winter, let alone sunshine.
