Round 3 Sunday 30th March 3:10 bounce down

Another warm, dry day is forecast

This is the match we have all been waiting for. 17th v 18th on the ladder. One team will rise slightly while the other will be anchored ⚓️ to the bottom of the ladder. Pardon the pun.

The stereotypical opposition supporter base sip chardonnay from their luxury apartments overlooking Dogswamp aka Eagles heartland.

Our supporter base are better known for ignoring the arrogance of the average lounge chair Eagles supporter who think they have achieved something great because they chose to support a team that has won something on multiple occasions.

What legends!

While the oppo camp have had to endure a display from Harley Reid consisting of diving for free kicks and flipping the bird at the crowd because they don't worship him. Our Reid has been kicking goals and displaying the skills that a Harlem Globetrotter would be proud of.

In other news some of our Freo faithful have started to turn their back on JLO and his coaching team. I for one have become tired of the hype and my optimism has definitely dipped.

The media considered Freo the best of the best going in to the season and many of us long suffering supporters bought into the narrative. Some people want Longmuir gone if we lose this week to the Eagles. Is it a knee jerk reaction or does JLO lack the ability to have his players execute an effective game plan? I'll let you be the judge.

I think we will beat the Eagles and it will be the start of a 4 to 5 game winning steak. Wishful thinking? Yes, most likely.

Key match ups

Pearce v Allen
If not Pearce it could be Cox or Draper as we don't lack for talls. If Pearce blankets Allen then it makes it harder for West Coast to kick a winning score.

Tracey v McGovern
McGovern is physically strong as is Tracey. Tracey for me leads so well that he has the ability to take that physicality out of most contests. He needs to be the pathway to goals with Amiss down on form.

A big game from...

Amiss, yes, he has been down but he has the talent and just needs to build his confidence.

Bolton, he was good but didn't look like kicking goals last game. If he lifts his game inside 50 then we areba genuine threat to rip this game apart.

Serong and Brayshaw
They have both been well held in the first two rounds. If they can shake the close attention and get off the chain all hell will break loose.

Verdict
Freo by 27 points and Glendining Allan medal winner Luke Jackson

Peace and luv

After much reflection, I'm ok with papering over the cracks for a week.

We can get on with the business of losing and changing our coach after we smack these w***ers.

Yuck. Another demoralising loss, this time to the campaigneriest team of all. But then pressure mounts and Jlo goes, so I’m ok with it.

Good write up Husk.

Covered all the important stuff.

Where you at on the JLo debate?

Thats a tough one

The game plan clearly isn't working and we were in a position to beat Sydney our goals completely dried up. On the other hand JLO can't kick the ball accurately for them so some players need to take responsibility for their inaccuracy.

Just sacking him if we lose these games early on isba knee jerk reaction from disgruntled fans who are desperate for success.

I would love Longmire to arrive at the end of the season as he's probably the best coach not connected to a team, however, he may not be interested no matter how much Freo pay him.

Posters saying grab a good assistant coach as they couldn't be any worse JLO could be in for a rude shock.

To get a coach the aim 100% needs to be to win the premiership not just compete.

I would be guessing regarding assistant coaches who can step up. I don't by it that other posters know who they are too. It's just guess work on our behalf.

Maybe of other coaches need to have a review on performance too.

I want the team to remember how to win late in the second quarter, then go on to kick 12 goals to 1 in the second half and win 4 in a row

Unless we win by 10+ goals it’ll still feel like a loss.

If we’re as good as we think and say we are we need to flog these guys they return from a sapping game in the Brisbane heat/humidity.

Still I’m tipping they get off to a good start, their home crowd urge them on and they beat us ins close game.

JLo knifed during the following week
