What a disgraceful sight

St Kilda asked him to stay on as a coach but he decided he wanted to try a different environment at another club, like many recently retired players do. Understandable that after 21 years he wants to have a bit of a break from the club. I'm sure his heart will always be with St Kilda and that he will return eventually.

Yea, that makes sense. I guess if you look at the big picture, its all about FOOTY, not just the individual team... At the end of a game, who is the first to put out his hand ? ..Harvey.. Mr. Football.. Top Competitor, Hard but Fair, a True Sportsman.

I guess its the fans that have to try to see the big picture...:cool::cool::cool:(sometimes its hard though...damn Josh;))

I wouldn't be too worried. Chances are he'll pike it in 3 years and take the senior gig with you blokes.

I'd be happy for him to see a premiership with us. He deserves one. Wouldn't you be happy for him (not Carlton of course)?

If Carlton make finals this year, It will be because of Robert Harvey.
That is my argument and I'm sticking to it!

I'm with you, i would be dead before i admit carlton have an talent hahah plus it's easier giving credit to someone you have your whole life.

At some point pretty soon Carlton's talent pool will gel together and they'll be a pretty bloody good side. It's inevitable, they've ended up with quite a stockpile of good young players from their recent lean times. Whether that will get them a flag only time will tell, but they have the nucleus of a very good team, that with some more experience will do very well.

If Harves manages to jag a flag with them I'll be happy for him (but not really for them!) He couldn't have given any more to the St Kilda cause over his 21 years, and we have no right to begrudge him any future success, even with another club.

I hope he comes back to the club in some capacity in the future, but for now, gaining experience away from our club will only do him, and potentially us, good in the long run.
