This round must have some of the most significant results:
Essendon's 3rd loss, together with last week, shows they are vulnerable enough that other sides can genuinely hope.
Port prove they can beat the best--at home admittedly, but must give them cred.
Brisbane win their 2nd straight game in Melbourne, shoring up 2nd spot and that home final.
Kangaroos look in trouble despite good form; just started too slowly.
Richmond also demand credibility and look very solid in the 8
Bulldogs really needed a win to be in the 8--lose despite being a big, emotional match.
Hawthorn with win after the siren to be in 3rd spot and ready to challenge.
Carlton on the other hand will now struggle to make the top 4: paying for their inconsistency and injuries.
Melbourne mathematically can't make the 8.
Also significant wins for Adelaide and Sydney and Collingwood and Geelong win to stay alive.
From a Carlton point of view, I can't remember a round when every single game has gone wrong for us: we've lost and all the teams we're up against: Brisbane, Hawthorn, Port, Richmond and Sydney won.
