This round must have some of the most significant results:

Essendon's 3rd loss, together with last week, shows they are vulnerable enough that other sides can genuinely hope.

Port prove they can beat the best--at home admittedly, but must give them cred.

Brisbane win their 2nd straight game in Melbourne, shoring up 2nd spot and that home final.

Kangaroos look in trouble despite good form; just started too slowly.

Richmond also demand credibility and look very solid in the 8

Bulldogs really needed a win to be in the 8--lose despite being a big, emotional match.

Hawthorn with win after the siren to be in 3rd spot and ready to challenge.

Carlton on the other hand will now struggle to make the top 4: paying for their inconsistency and injuries.

Melbourne mathematically can't make the 8.

Also significant wins for Adelaide and Sydney and Collingwood and Geelong win to stay alive.

From a Carlton point of view, I can't remember a round when every single game has gone wrong for us: we've lost and all the teams we're up against: Brisbane, Hawthorn, Port, Richmond and Sydney won.

Or, from my point of view, another real disappointment. I couldn't believe Freo's last 1/4: they just fell over.

It was exciting. from libba's/knights clash before the opening bounce to Dixon'd amazing kick after the siren - it seemed like a long long time.

Hawks hd only fingernails onto any hope of second spot - but now have both hands hanging on. - here's to a draw for the lions at shell stadium.

Interesting Round - 4 great games, 3 shockers and 1 game that nearly produced yet another upset. Bloody Freo, I wanted them to win that....I'm terrified they will beat us next week, even though all logic says they shouldn't.

But just think, if Dixon had missed, Hawthorn would be 6th and Carlton 3rd on the ladder!!!! :D :p

When I saw this photo this morning, all I could think of was Dixon wears shorts that are even bigger than Matthew Knights'!

(P.S. Also, another excellent sporting result was the Storm's win over the Bronco's in an amazing game of League)

And I think it was just as well the Hawks were wearing the brown shorts yesterday - I can only imagine Dixon was very nervous! :D

As for rubbing it in - well how often do you get to beat Carlton & Collingwood twice in the one season? Including a 3 point win against both sides and a thrashing of both sides! :D Now if only we could beat Essendon, Brisbane and Port :(

And let's not forget that hawthorn are the only team that freo have beaten this year....in the ansett cup.

And let's not forget that Essendon didn't win it either ;)
