Absolute first world problem but always wondered why half the teams get full names and others don’t

Clubs nominate what they want to be called. It’s their branding.

Geelong do not call themselves Geelong Football Club anywhere because about a decade ago some marketing consultant told them GFC had negative connotations because of the Global Financial Crisis. True story.

Hence they asked to be called “Geelong Cats”.

'Move it on" before play on. Just whistle and say "play on". Unnecessary.

I hate how 'Pressure' now covers things like poor execution, fumbling and lack of awareness.

If I hear someone say team x are versing team y or words similar to that, I'll go postal

"Chisler" annoys me to tears. Is it a stab pass, chip kick, short pass?
It's the same amount of syllables as those three, so what's the point?

Not annoying, but I've noticed Aussie pundits like to use nicknames to describe their fellow pundits and players. And that nickname has a nickname. And sometimes those nicknames will have a nickname and thus, I'd be better off learning players' nicknames than actual names.
