I've had enough of all of these kents already.

Nothing would satisfy me more right now than drafting H.Reid and watch him kick a bag against the tin-rattlers.


And anyone else wanting to entertain splitting the pick in this massively compromised draft needs to give themselves an uppercut as well.

I saw someone mention something about Melbourne getting hold of NM's #3 (on McKay's departure) & adding that to Freo's 1st pick they hold. So #3 & #6 would be a starting point I'd imagine.

Two compelling reasons, to my mind, for why it seems unlikely we will pass up the chance to draft Reid.
1. He seems the most outstanding talent in our biggest area of need. We have really missed Yeo playing midifeld.
2. His marketability. If the response in WA when he played here is an indication, he is going to be extremely popular. Almost rockstar potential.
We have lost Nicnat, likely the most marketable player of recent times.
John Townshend's article predicting Simmo would be retained stated 'follow the money' in regards to WCE.
Harley may that guy.

Edit; really hope Townshend's crystal balling on Pyke coming over as football manager, then taking over as CEO comes true.

For what it’s worth, I hope you turn out to be right and we ‘read’ his name out on draft night.

I get it, we would not be doing our due diligence if we didn't listen to offers. If we walked away with Curtin and one of Duursma/McKercher i understand why we'd consider it but gee Bond, Harley Reid really compliments our young midfield brigade perfectly.

I think most of us can envision a nucleus of Ginbey, Hewett, Reid, Hough, Culley, Chesser being our next premiership midfield.

I really hope the club doesn't have blinkers on just for Curtin and only gives this kid up if the offer is legitamately too good to refuse.

It doesn't take long for the kids to get introduced to the right business connections, modified uni programs, free use of holiday houses and endless hordes of girls wanting to climb the social ladder.

It is in no way difficult to retain kids once they arrive, Perth is glorious to the connected.
