This club's injury history or player unavailability is becoming a sad joke. Taylor Adams walking laps, Treloar does a hammy, Beams is gone and it appears Stevo is going to miss a few with a fracture or break. I read a VFL report which said Stevo was the only senior player out there and of course he is the one who gets injured. Greenwood, Varcoe, Reid, Langdon and I think Sier (concussion) all unavailable and the season is yet to begin. Richmond once again have a 100% fit list as we speak. How can we expect to contend when this injury curse shows no end in sight?
Any guesses if the inevitable virus hits, which club would land the blow first?

I was thinking that yesterday odds on we get it first.
It’s our destiny.

That or the league does a lightning flag and we get to the final and it’s all called off as opposition get it.

Thats our way.

Shame for him.
Am sure he’s fit.
But also he did have glandular fever so if We going to use player management he’s the logical first pick.

He had glandular fever mate ...
His preseason form was awful. And he knew it, and expressed it to his teammates.
Its unfortunate, but I can’t see him having an impact in a shortened season.
I saw first hand how it knocked him around ... he is right. Now and will get a little more fitness and he will have an impact .. don’t worry about that... he’s a determined young man that hates being defeated ...

Can't say I agree with the above writing him off, another week of track work and some extra sessions. He'll be thereabouts for Richmond, and a definite for round 3

Bit of a strange post, that one! I expect him to be able to make an impact within 5 minutes of being back in the team! He's that sort of player; shouldn't need a lot of time.

* Unless it turns out to be a 3-game season, then you may be right!

His swift re-entry into the side after last year’s layoff says plenty about his potential for impact. A tough pre season and missing round 1 shouldn’t be cause for concern yet about his possible impact in 2020 - 17 round season or not

It's not entirely an injury curse when it's the same Ben "16 weeks" Reid, Broomhead, Langdon, etc year after year lol

We have 2 match winners at Collingwood, Stephenson is one of them. This is not the time to rest him.
He’s not being rested ... he’s being flogged on the training track to regain his general conditioning and fitness ...he’s at about 90% now... another week of gut running and in the gym and mountains of ball handling will give the edge he needs I think

He has played a Marsh game, a VFL game and a few intra-clubs.

With reduced game-time, coupled with the fact that there are no VFL games for him to run into form, I think you almost have to bite the bullet and play him at senior level. Especially with De Goey probably having to play permanent mid with no Treloar or Wills.
