Not unless you throw in Rich.
Sure, if you give us all of your future draft picks.
Charman is a quality backup. To offload him now, with the young and injury susceptible blokes we have would be folly.
Even for a second rounder in a draft without much depth? Isn't the opportunity to get a good youngster more important than having ruck back-up?
Just to clarify, by 'back-up ruckman' do you mean the 2nd ruck, who would be in a club's 22, or a 3rd ruck, who wouldn't? I agree that a second ruck is important, but I'm not so sure a 26 year old third ruck who can't make your side is more important than an opportunity (that will be rare in this year's shallow draft) to pick a quality player . This is why I think this would be a win-win-win for player and both clubs. Charman will be best 22 at Port next year, if Clark and Leuenberger are playing he probably won't be for Brisbane. We need a ruckman, you don't. You also probably need a good youngster more than we do looking at the state that both of our lists are in.
Um lionfan17 that isn't even funny. Charman was in all aussie form before getting injured back in 2006 vs essendon and has been carrying injurys ever since! He is quite a good player when not giving away free kicks and losing his head. 2nd or 3rd rounder for Charmo although I would be gutted to see him leave the lions.$1.50 and a Warren Tredrae autographed netball top.
His value though at the end of this year may as silly as it sounds be slightly higher than last year.
I know our rucks are thin but trading Charman depends on the confidence of our coaching staff has in Tippet, Bart and Murray
Teams like Geelong, Hawthorn, Bulldogs rucks stocks are pretty thin, forget the woeful year the Hawks have had all 3 clubs will be thinking they are flag chances next year. The idea of getting Charman for a small mid (McGlynn, Djekkurra, Reid and a 2nd round selection may not be out of the question)
Johnstone has no trade value at all
Probably. But while he was sitting there with all of his teeth knocked out, he'd have a big toothless smile on his face because he did exactly what he was trying to do, suck in a Lion and get a free.
