What's a Collingwood Conspiracy That You Believe To Be True?

Well it's not like this is original absolutely nothing wrong with it at all Many have said Darcy is gay which I'm all for he's a role model and if he were to come out (if he is gay) would make him even more of a leader to me
(I'm not personal gay but as I said nothing wrong with it and with how toxic some sports fans are in relation to sexuality I get why no one had come out yet

Darc is unbothered. As above, he exists in a time and space where such things are inconsequential.

You're right, it's not original and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Hi. Here is today's public service statement, brought to you by horse.

You lot seem kind of obsessed by guys sexuality sometimes. Here's a few tips

1) Just as a matter of interest, there is such a thing as being bi for example. Hi, my name is horse, and im one. I laugh every time I see someone type "well Ive seen X with a girlfriend at Y event, so he can't be into guys." Errrrr no. You really have no idea what someone's sexuality is from that data point. Just FYI.

2) If someone is not straight and hasnt gone public on that, that is their choice and they have reasons for it. Respect it and stop speculating.

3) I guess the speculation annoys me especially, because it seems to be treated as some sort of game I dunno. In reality, someone coming out and living publicly and openly as same sex attracted is likely to mean all of the below

  • People you are close to and trust who you least expect will turn against you (there will always be someone. A family member. A friend. A coworker. A teammate. I cant tell you who, I just know it will happen)
  • You will suddenly be subject to random harassment, abuse, and threats of physical violence if walking around with a same sex partner. It wont be all the time. But it will happen, and it will freak you out.
  • Add to that actual physical violence will probably happen at some point.
  • It will overall impact you negatively in ways you didnt anticipate and from directions you never expected.

Thats for someone out of the public eye. In the pubic eye, some of those are multiplied by a lot.

For those of us who damn the torpedoes and come out, thats a choice too and one made with eyes open, but I totally get someone not making that choice, especially in a world like AFL football. Its not a game. Its serious s**t.

So, maybe, just maybe, go back to 2) above, and decide on something else to obsess over. please consider.

Yeah fair call. I’m a big believer in the whole ‘know better, do better’ thing, and I appreciate your post.

I think to those of us who are straight and accepting/supportive of those who aren’t (and only surround ourselves with like-minded people), we may be forgetful that a large part of the population probably isn’t accepting and supportive yet, because we don’t live it. I guess what I mean is, to someone who doesn’t have to actually do it, ‘coming out’ doesn’t seem like it’s a monumental thing anymore… when in fact, what the f**k would we really know about it?

Big love ❤️

It's not a conscious thing but I think it's pretty telling that even now in a progressive and accepting time, whenever we as a public discuss a player's sexuality, we always label them as either Straight, Gay or occasionally Bi. There's a whole range of sexualities that a person can choose to identify as, but if they don't openly say it, we always go back to the big three. It can be as simple as "They don't have a girlfriend, so they must be gay"

That would be a night-mare.
Sorry in advance.

both you and JoinDate will be receiving a visit from the ponies.

Unless you surrender your belly buttons to me for lint extraction immediately

Like the birdman in Flash Gordon?
Hawkman.

An individuals sexuality is up to them. Why do people expect people to put themselves in a box or conform to a label? There's already too many labels and boxes. Just let people be people, have sex with whoever (as long as it's consensual and legal) and stop obsessing over it.
