Just announced on Ch 9 news in Adelaide McGregor will stay with the AFC and Damon White is seeking a trade from Port Power possibly to the AFC

What's the thumbs up for?

Yeah so now reports have Damon going everywhere - Adelaide accoridng to the news, Bulldogs according to the paper, and Perth according to the radio.

Personally I hope he does well wherever he ends up.

I'm glad Kenny is staying play him from the goalsquare one out as much as possible and he'll kick goals for us and at least when he takes a mark from 30m out he'll kick the goal 9 times out of 10 unlike the majority of our forwards.

Would you let him go? Still has 1 year to go on his contract. Tredders is getting on in age, and is running out of knees in hobble on. White would be a natural replacement for him.

I tend to think personally he should be kept for depth .... and the club apparently wants to retain him ... .however many seem to think his time at Alberton is up due to Westhoffs emergence. I'd guess hes a fair chance to be traded if the club can be satisfied - and thats fair enough IMO - hes certainly not irreplaceable.

Yep, that's where I'd play him. A natural, creative, strong forward like Hentschel makes McGregor (I still think his loss cost us a GF). His return will be critical for McGregors fortunes.

Hoff is along way from holding his spot now...Now that temas have seen him they can stop him, and three did this finals series...Gonna be a tough year for him next year..

Well White is no Tredders before they butchered his knees, but he's still a strong mark and kick.

With a good slapping and a great pre-season Kenny will do just fine.

Where would you play him then, no room in defence if Rutten, Bock, Stevens and Basset are fit, Mcgregor will not be ahead of Gill or Welsh, depends on whether or not Hentschel is fit and firing, if Gill, Welsh and Hentschell are all good, I see little room for Mcgregor in our side, however the above are all injury prone so he will likely play.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him start off in defence either at the Crows or the eagles. It would allow him to get some confidence back without a bunch of players crashing into him all the time.

As I said in the other thread, with Kenny staying, Hentschel coming back, prospects of drafting Walker and with Gill, Tippett and Sellar on the list, I would be extremly disappointed if we do in fact go after White. Especially considering that he is contracted and Port would want to bend us over and molest us in the process.

White to the Crows? Won't happen though, we're not that stupid. Channel 10 really have no idea, they're only putting this out there because we were interested two years ago.

As for McGregor staying. Only stayed because he realised he would've played out his days with the Eagles if the Crows hadn't thrown him a lifeline.

Remind me who in our team is more likely to take a mark and kick a goal inside 50 than Kenny, Maybe Trent pre knee

Agree with you on Damon White though. Another B Grade forward is not what we need. Surely we learnt from Fitzy/Schell/Hewitt

Kenny's turning circle is slower than a snail on damp ground, no defensive pressure at all. Under Craig's regime, I dunno how Kenny made it through, yeah sure he can kick goals from the goalsquare, but what happens when he drops it?

Rebound 50 and we have a goal kicked against us...not good enough. I've seen it time and time again...the ball goes to ground with Kenny and another player 1on1... there's a 20% chance Kenny will end up getting the ball, he's slow.

ADELAIDE key-position player Ken McGregor will sign a two-year contract with the Crows, ignoring overtures from WA and Victorian AFL clubs.

And now it is Port Adelaide forward Damon White - who is under contract next season - asking if there are better opportunities with other AFL teams.

But the Power says it will not trade him unless he can be part of a super deal.

McGregor, 26, on Monday decided he preferred to stay in Adelaide rather than consider options at Fremantle, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs.

His management yesterday accepted a new deal at West Lakes - one said to have been sweetened by the Crows in recent days.

Adelaide football operations manager John Reid said last night: "It has been sorted out well."

Power football operations manager Peter Rohde last night described 24-year-old White as "frustrated" by limited opportunities.

"He says he wants to be considered for a trade; we say he is a required player," said Rohde. "He is under contract for next season, he is a required player and he will play for Port Adelaide next year unless there is a suitable trade."

Adelaide sought to strike a trade for White two years ago.

Reid last night was cautious on any new approach for White at a time when Adelaide appears in need of new options in attack.

"We'll certainly look at it, but he is under contract to Port and that makes it a difficult deal," said Reid.

And your telling me the Adelaide fitness staff don't know that core strength is critical and don't work this with all the players?

I know they do work on it with their players, in fact a few of them are actually sent to do specific gymnastics training (Kenny being one btw - but his was more to do with landings as he has the same problems that Mark Stevens had).

I'm saying that I don't think you realise that core stability is more important than upper body strength and most footy clubs have only now started to do more core stability exercises as part of the warm ups etc. You do also realise that bulking up the upper body also causes most players to slow down not speed up?

Plus I think you haven't really observed the afc forward line for the last two years if you think we are going to have a stay at home full forward or forward pocket player. Not gonna happen. Our forwards have to have the ability to run all day and to change up forward from being the one inside the forward 50 to being the lead up forward.
