If you can’t understand the circumstances about the 1,600 games leaving then it could be you on a different planet to everyone else!If you reckon there is nothing to review then you are on a different planet.
You lost 1600 games of experience and gained none.
We have had a entire generation request a trade out the door. Castagna literally walked away from the game at 25 noting "he lost the passion" & doesnt even have a qualification in something else that would allow him to earn close to what he could have earned playing AFL.
Former players have flocked to partner with Dimma at the Gold Coast, while our players all have ran to West Coast to team up with Mini.
Our medical team have failed in being able to allow our players to have "long careers", while also failing to be able to develop many of the younger blokes to be able to handle AFL & that has not really seen a massive improvement this year.
Gibcus. Clarke, Smillie - all showing signs of chronic injury body issues young & us not being able to get on top of it to allow them to prosper.
We have had more players require police involvement than any other club over the past 7 years
We have had more players lose games from reports than any other club over the past 7 years.
Our head coach had an affair with a staff member that, literally, broke the club "brotherhood" ethos.
That same head-coach quit mid-contract citing exhaustion, only to sign a new contract elsewhere within 3 months.
2024-25 represents the wost w/l ratio the club has held in my lifetime.
I think the club has been riding on the success and trust built by others for a very long time.
Balme, who was our literal canary in the cage, is now working in Adelaide alongside Titch Edwards. And you can tell, Balmey did not like this new group. I trust Neil Balme more than anyone this club has here atm.
And i've said several times, the constant flow of blokes requesting trades out, should be a concern. Our blokes are not leaving to win flags. They left to go to a team worse than us, but coached by our old coaches.
My fear is the club is replacing one purple circle with another. What OP is stating is not even a offensive comment. Its saying to review these issues BEFORE it becomes a big problem, which is smart. Purple Circles are, the worst, thing for any organisation. America has become one big, fat Purple/Orange Circle, and look how bad things can go when unchecked.
If clubs did these openly every 3-5 years, as a standard process - it would be far smarter than just doing it once the shit hits the fan. The point is to not let the poop hit the fan.
1. One team is coming of winning 3 flags, the other has never made the finals in their existanceI see women’s program has been reviewed and upended.
I wonder how Mon Conti feels knowing we are starting again once things became completely hopeless.
Be good to use reviews more proactively and change things along the way rather than waiting until it’s hopeless.

He and LOTW share the same planetIf you can’t understand the circumstances about the 1,600 games leaving then it could be you on a different planet to everyone else!
You’re really going to die on this hill aren’t you? Kudos to you even though it is completely misguidedHa ha.
We won our last flag 5 years ago and while I will always be grateful for that don’t see why TF we should wallow in mediocrity?
Do you?
Is it not a red flag that our aflw coach gets extended and then sacked a few months later?
Perhaps the review would have been more effective done before we started unravelling?
On what basis is it misguided? You’re really going to die on this hill aren’t you? Kudos to you even though it is completely misguided
I’m still wondering on what grounds his contract was extended given the our team’s performance this year with the AFLWOn what basis is it misguided?
I reckon it’s good to get ahead of a cycle rather than react after the event.
The one thing I would say is that if they were doing this behind closed doors and not sharing it then that would be fine so I hope that due diligence is being done.
I just don’t understand why people think that waiting until things are absolutely fu*kt until doing something about it is the best course of action.
The best example is the Ferguson sacking.
I actually find it staggering that we have sacked a coach 3 months after resigning him in the aflw.
Why do a review when things are tracking as expected? Some would say ahead of schedule. On what basis is it misguided?

We are "on track" because we are prioritizing youth and getting games into players.I’m happy to wait another year but will say this before moving on.
There’s a heap of people who think we are “on track” but have not articulated why we are on track.
On track compared to what?
When are you expecting us to play finals again and what gives you comfort we are well placed to get by that timeline?
Given it’s a rebuild, it wasn’t going to happen overnight or within the first two years of Yze’s tenure. Let’s look at the situation year one: we had so many injuries. Regardless of the coach, we wouldn’t have performed year 2 more young players in the side. You’re expecting far too much from a young group. We should see steady progress next season and hopefully win around 5 to 8 games with a better percentage. When do you think we’ll reach the finals by his fifth year if not on the verge of it going into next year where the second youngest side in the competition, if you’re thinking we’re gonna be successful anytime soon you will be disappointed.I’m happy to wait another year but will say this before moving on.
There’s a heap of people who think we are “on track” but have not articulated why we are on track.

We've started a complete rebuild of the list.I’m happy to wait another year but will say this before moving on.

The club would conduct reviews at the end of each season. I wouldn’t undertake a full and costly investigation until we have compelling reasons to do so. Which we don’t.I think that’s fair RT.
My reference point is that the last 2 years have been our worst in 50+ years - based on ladder position and %. In fact our % in last 2 years is the worst it’s been since the 60’s.
The fall has been expected but dramatic.
So, when you are coming from last to first - there are missteps along the way.
Isn’t it better to continually check in and make sure we jump on those missteps along the way?
I don’t want to sack coaches if we don’t need to.
But I don’t want to be resigning coaches and dumping them a few months later cause we didn’t see the train coming out of the tunnel at a hundred miles an hour.
I think we are beyond that now.
As I mentioned at the start of the thread, the club is constantly reviewing all areas and making adjustments to plans as things unfold. As the mens program has shown improvements extensions have been given, not just to Yze but also players, some may not be popular among fans, but have been earned through performance. With the women's program, IMO Ferguson was extended due to his recent record of making finals in 2 of the previous 3 season, then the program wide review was conducted and it wasn't just him that paid the price but also our head of football as well. Hopefully those changes will be the catalyst for that program to get back on track.I think that’s fair RT.

I've been around for a long time.
Saw the glory of premierships in the late '60s and early '70s; also saw the stupid "eat our young" ruthlessness that cost us 3 decades in the wilderness.
Saw the club almost consigned to oblivion through mismanagement and stupidity.
Also saw the club right itself and once again become one of the most feared.
Make no mistake my fellow Tiger, the 2017 premiership was at least 10 years in the making.
Today, the club is a far cry from the rabble of decades ago. Under the rules around player procurement these days, the club is doing exactly the right thing.
The fullness of time will reveal everything, but I have never been so bullish about another period of sustained success as I am right now.
That's cos of the fluro yellow. Bring back the traditional yellow.others think of us as daffodils
I'm confused?????
we have not been feared since the 70's have we?
i do not fear any club and if a club is feared that club has a problem in my book
not even sure we want to be feared
i prefer others think of us as daffodils and we keep winning premierships
