Starting to think scrapping it might be better than a half assed rag tag season where anything can change on the fly.

Venues, hubs, training restrictions, less games, shortened games, season suspensions or changes on the fly, reduced staff, reduced lists, no crowds....

That's not footy, can it for 2020 and resume in 2021 with close to normality?

Ohh Boo Hoo! And then probably end up with an even shitier outcome next year! Why don't people get that the AFL (and as an extension, the Clubs) needs to get games going of any sort in order to get TV rights money flowing. Channel 7 are not going to just chuck money for trying. People will need to get over their personal agendas and dream outcomes and just ****in support what gets offered up, or next year will be a shamozzle!!!!!

Well QLD will allow NRL , what’s Dan saying to Victorians ?

a great big **** you to Victorian voters by theCommunist Party of Victoria

;)

You guys are slowly coming to the party. Research released the other day shows 80% of Queenslanders (and even 65% of Qld LNP voters!) want public money for clean energy, not coal. A year too late, but welcome aboard.

Why do you always see Qlder's standing talking to each other on the street? Cos they can't walk AND talk at the same time.

How do you expect us to be all on the same page anyway, especially when it's like having over 7 states of Victoria in Queensland. Those 7 states would be Dopey, Sleepy, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy, Bashful, Grumpy and last of all Happy!

Easy. Hey Sunshine, the lists are smaller, It's Richmond or Rowville, take your pick!

Unfortunately, the long time big earners at the end of their career aren't too concerned about that it seems Frehley !

It will be interesting to watch what happens, and who gets all messed up dollar-wise over this! I get it's their living, just like yours and mine, but this is going to make those overpaid hotshots do a SWOT analysis some time soon. They've been great on Strengths and Opportunities.........now the rubber hits the road.

I don’t think I would get a game at Rowville, Richmond I would be a chance

fu** it we would have been playing gws today at the G in wet and miserable conditions ,,,,,just how we like it 🤬🤬
Was looking forward to this game and was actually worried if there was nice weather given the GF rematch status there would be a big crowd, high 50ks.
Obviously it turned out not to be so nice and it would’ve been a great day at the footy. Mid 40s crowd, plenty of room, freezing cold and difficult conditions but a high quality game between two contenders.

sounds good to me . Aunty Caro providing the good oil

The new-look AFL season could feature games played on five days of the week and see players deal with shorter breaks between matches as footy bosses map out the revamped campaign after it was interrupted by coronavirus.
Reports suggest the league is looking at a restart in mid-June for a 17-round season and respected journalist Caroline Wilson says blockbuster clashes may be delayed until later in the year in case crowds are allowed to come back in several months time.

The NRL is on track for a resumption on May 28 but the AFL wants to have all its ducks in a row before going public with concrete details like season length, training specifications and a grand final date.

Wilson said the ambition was to finish the season in late October and predicts AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan will reveal a restart date soon.

“There’ll be four day breaks – that’ll be the shortest break players will be asked to have,” she said on ABC program Offsiders on Sunday.

“They still haven’t made a decision about interchange benches, but I expect them to widen because of this.

“There is a suggestion that bigger games, such as ‘Derbies’ and ‘Showdowns’, might be pushed back towards the end of the year in the hope there might be some crowds, or to make things more interesting.

“There’s going to be a lot of games. I think footy will be played, definitely four days a week and probably five days a week for the next few months.”

There’s been talks of placing players in quarantine hubs but as Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said last week, that’s a last resort and the season is now expected to take place on a fly-in, fly-out basis for teams that need to travel interstate.

no hubs , 17 game season , shortest break 4 days, mcg gf and possibility of crowds returning later on

best

Hope it doesn't start on June 11. Means we have to beat the pies to get a year without a loss, and it'll be R2 so basically their GF.
