Without going into long boring detail on Colour Theory - our jumpers are purple. They are very obviously purple on a sunny day.

In a shop (under flouro lights), or at a night game, or when it's been raining (or the players are sweaty), the jumpers do look darker and "bluer".

Also, TV makes things look a bit funky.

Either way, the jumpers are purple (and white).

Isn't it nice when the Hawks posters drop in to give us their far superior opinions based on they know everything?

Other Victorian supporters must be grateful there's 10 clubs there. Imagine if the Hawks supporters only had one local rival to focus their attentions on - it'd be like dealing with eagles supporters all the time with their arrogance level dialled up to 9000.

Why do Hawks fans have such an obsession with Ross Lyon? This muppet can't even help randomly bringing him up repeatedly in a thread about colours... that he started.
Maybe because he is never going to win you a flag and is treated like a genius. He is a one trick pony who Must be held to some sort of ransom by sac Dawson. He has won less flags than worsfold who wouldn't know an on field tactic if it sat on his face.

Which covers about 95% of your games.
It's actually the Freo board and you are more than free to **** off!
Either way you've shown yourself to be very ignorable.
free for anyone signed on to Bigfooty to post on. Is ignorable a word????

Maths is obviously not a strong point over there in Hawkland!

We do actually play about 50% of our games in our away jumper.
Some of our games we even play in the day time.

Now speaking of away jumpers - mate - I think you'd be better off not talking about jumpers at all...

as a hawk supporter who simply lives the fact we have a unique colour brown, and also going through the period where the club wanted to get rid of it as a core colour, can I ask, why is your club making your on field kit basically as dark and non purple as possible? Bad enough you got rid of the green, but your jumpers, even in sunlight, exude none of that wonderful purple haze, its almost like watching port or Carlton. They need to lighten the shade up a notch. When you actually look at a jumper close up in a store, it's an unbelievably dark shade.

Just sayin, no idea if this is a bug bear of any freo supporters.

It's a big improvement IMHO.
Bold and simple geometric shapes, only 2 colours, maximum contrast between the colours used by having the darker colour as dark as possible.

Can't see what the issue is.

Jealousy that our jumper looks awesome?

Saying our jumper isn't purple is like saying Carlton's jumper isn't blue. They are both the colour shades they are meant to be - just super dark.

If anyone has ever worked as a designer or a printer, getting colours right on fabric is a very hard task to do. I have worked with sports teams in the past and so many factors can influence how a colour is seen on a garment - the ink/dye quality, the fabric/material quality, the detergant used to wash it before first use, the sunlight conditions etc. etc. but Freo have an exact spot colour they use for their garments at ISC for gameday jumpers (as well as replica jumpers), to ensure that there is minimal issues when new orders are made
