where do we go from here???

We play the kids time to get Watts and Rutten in there and give them a go, sort out the **** and either delist or trade them and consider this start of a tough 3-4 yrs of rebuilding the AFC.

Short term pain for long term gain;)

Did anyone just hear what was said on Triple M in Adelaide??

Gary put Roo to the goalsquare with 2 minutes to go. WHAT THE ****????  WHY????

On a side note, Robert Shaw offered his resignation to the board in Round 12 of 1996, but they didn't accept. I didn't know that

As if thats going to happen. To ayres : what the **** do you smoke before a game.

The bigger question was the second quarter - why wasn't our ruckmen taking the throw ins??? Whitnall won most of them and he got them back into the game. Their were a lot of dumb decisions made on the day - why Roo in the goal square last quarter. If you wanted him to rest, why didn't he do it during the game rather than take him off. Outstanding manouevres by the coaching panel - all of them with no exceptions should resign!!!!

I can't remember the full context of that discussion you're referring to, but yes I'm happy with Bassett.

Ah well at least we've got a nice run home...

Yes I would still say that we're better off just developing a successor for Bassett rather than going all out for a ready-made full back.

I'm yet to see what the big fuss over Brian Harris is about anyway.

"where do we go from here?"

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to consume copious amounts of alcohol, and blur away the memory of that lamentable last quater.

Alcohol has many properties, some of them anaesthetic.

Actually after our win against hawks i thought we are going to make the finals, call me optimistic or whatever..but then this. Guess i was flying too high, our season is over anyways, play the youngsters we have nothing else to lose anyways, time to get jericho, watts and rutten in the team. And yes i'd have some of the alchohol too.

All we've done this season is beat undermanned or dreadfully out of form sides - Richmond, Port and Hawthorn - for a grand record of 5-17 (!!!) since Round 19 last year.

Fair enough, but we didnt play too crap against freo in subiaco and lions (except that first quarter blackout), we didnt do too bad against st kilda as well, yea i know i was being too optimistic, but atleast i can hope right????? right now i just depressed i guess. We should have beaten carlton (face it, ayres lost it for us), then WC and then anything coulda happened at 5-7

I got no problem with Roo in the goalsquare late in the last QTR but McGregor rucking had me more confused than I ever was before. At one stage we had Hudson deep in the forward line, Carey playing across HB and McGregor in the ruck. WTF??????

Please Gary. Please do the same in Round 12.

He has to go. We just can't keep losing games by a lack of rational coaching moves.

Through the course of the day:

Smart - FB
McGregor - R
Ricciuto - FF

All we needed was Perrie at CHB and there would've been a shiny new limited edition Channel 9 wallmount in it for us:

"AYRES CROCK - a marrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrvellous addition for any bar or office wall, have your credit cards at the ready though, it is a limited edition piece of only 12 million"

I agree.

While coaching today was CRAP, Ayres can't kick or handball for the players when they are on the field. Burton continued his "lets kick it to the opposition" expedition that he has gone on since the start of the year.

Burton wasn't the only one today but hell he is the most consistent one.
