Modern's for me
I'm sorry - are you suggesting that Dunstall and Lockett were playing before the modern era?

They were both running around post-1995.

When did the "modern" players arrive?

By modern, im referring to players still playing today and im not saying the others are old or anything, just to clear up

How old are you, champ?

You must be a young bloke.

Dunstall, Lockett and Coleman are basically the 3 greatest FFs of all time.

Lloyd, Tredrea and Brown are just the dominant forwards of their era.

Yes i am fairly young.

Though I would like to see Coleman play in the 90's to see how he would have gone in todays game

When Lloyd retires he will either retire as the 2nd or 1st leading goalkicker of all time, baring injuries.
Brown will probably win the Brownlow next year, with West getting 2nd again. He will probs kick well over 100 if he plays 22
Tredrae at his best kicks 80+goals a season and if he plays 22 may kick over 100 at his best

I know the style of game has changed, but I don't see any of those new forwards kicking 17.6 in one game, nor 145 in a season.

I agree, with the flooding players are lucky to kick 80. Fevola was basically the only target at Carlton which is why he did kick heaps, though he is a good FF and does deserve all those goals and AA selection

Coleman is a great FF, dont get me wrong, he is one of the greatest ever. However in the 90's how many do u think he would have got. Easily at least 100, but how many

Well for starters your comparing 3 FF's to 2 CHF's and a FF.

Coleman kicked 537 goals in 98 Games. With one field umpire in the game then, it meant his opponents used to hold onto him without the umpire seeing it, which is alot worse than a flood. He was a freak and one of the best ever. Brown and Tredrea i probably wouldnt have in my top 20 forwards of all time, Brown will get in it by the end of his career.

But mate, as your a young guy, there have been plenty of Forwards to win brownlows, so Brown winning it isnt a superhuman achievement or anything.

The oldies by a long long long long long long long long long way.

Coleman >> Lloyd
Lockett >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tredrea
Dunstall>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Brown

If one team had all these 6 forwards at their best, how unstopable would that team be

Hart Carey Brereton
Ablett Coventry Pratt

Is better than the other one, Tredrea and Brown degrade it.

Doubt any backline you could create would stop either of them

Forgot bout that champ

Ablett, Brown, Dunstell
Lloyd, Coleman, Lockett

Brown will be better near the end of his career

Oldies by a mile.

Lockett, Dunstall are 2 of the greatest players I ever got to see play the game.
I never saw Coleman play but from pass me downs he was a superstar.

Brown, Lloyd and Tredrea have had to many inconsistent years unlike the 3 mentioned above, who kicked 100 most years. which is why the oldies are greater.

You can only compare people against their peers.

Wh
en Lloyd retires he will either retire as the 2nd or 1st leading goalkicker of all time, baring injuries.
I've seen All of Dunstall, Lockett, and Lloyd's careers. No matter how many Lloyd kicks, the other two are better.

Brown will probably win the Brownlow next year, with West getting 2nd again.
You seem to know a lot for a young kid.

Oldies by the length of recorded time.

I hope this isn't a troll, and that you are really young.

Dunstall kicked 1254 Goals
here is some research - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Dunstall

Lockett kicked over 1300 Goals
here is some research - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Lockett

Coleman has the 2nd best average of goals per game in history. One of only two players to average over 5 Goals per Game (FYI, Peter Hudson is the top)..
here is some research - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Coleman

The others are good forwards on thier day, but they are not even worthy to be the piss-bucket boys of the oldies if the truth be known.

Just to clarify the Brown in fact being talked about in this poll is the same Brown that plays for Brissy right? The one thats never kicked 40 goals in a season. The one that averages significantly less than 2 goals a game for his career. The one that has never made the All Australian team. Never gone near winning a Best and Fairest?

He's the one being compared with the likes of John Coleman and Jason Dunstall right?

Maybe next there could be a poll involving Bobby Skilton and Heath Scotland
