Carey broke North down, tore them to pieces, really He had a massive influence onfield but much BIGGER of the field for the worst, destroyed everything he stood for.

Hird not as good on field, but what he is doing of field is so much more valuable then anything Carey will ever be able to do for North.

As shown by the North Melbourne side of the 90's, a team can be built around a gun forward like Duck. Not too sure whether the same could be said of Hird.
