Did you miss the whole Collingwood salary cap saga? It went on for over a month. Well, it went on all year. It just became hard for Collingwood to deny once they started trading good players for junk picks.

Seriously, Phillips is nothing more than a solid, C-grade contributor. Decent little pickup, especially for the price, but nothing to write home about. Your list is still in horrible shape and will be for a few years. I don't like saying it, but Hawthorn will likely finish bottom 2 in 2021.

I disagree we will finish bottom 2 but also not overly fussed if it happens, we are not a finals team at the moment.

People are so adamant about who is in a worse position when it is pretty much irrelevant at this point.

Fact is all of Adelaide, North, Essendon, Hawthorn currently are not great and it will come down to which team Drafts/trades better over the next 2/3 years.

Could argue any of those 4 teams or some of the middling teams that won't contend are in a worse position.

Sure but this doesn’t take any weight in to how good any of those kids are. Essendon lost some experience and added 3 young but completely unproven players.

Why are you triggered? The talent on the Hawks list under 25 is pretty bad. The Dogs had a lot of very good talent under 25 in 2015 and needed a coach to put it together. Hawthorn's list is very uninspiring.

I've felt that our team was always close to pulling a rabbit out of a hat with some deft top-ups, but it didn't happen. We've taken our medicine, with more to come, and I'm hoping that in 15 years or so that the Hawks do too.
