I thought this thread was going to be about which players would enjoy a premiership. In which case it would have to be us, apparently they know how to have a good time.

In regards to the actual thread I would put it between the Saints, Dogs and Freo. Voted for Freo because or their general lack of finals success.

when Adelaide won the two premierships the whole city went off like a frog in a sock! I miss that feeling... you could hug a stranger on the street it was just awsome!!

I couldn't imagine a supporter base that crave a flag more than us*, Freo would become a ****ing riot zone, all the shit we put up with, the ****ing ineptness, nothing could possibly be sweeter than our first Flag, and I only pray Pav is Captain when it happens.

*The Dogs and the Saints excluded, possibly Melbourne too because I doubt many of their supporters have ever seen a Premiership either, unless they are really bloody old

My Dad's been alive for 7 Melbourne premierships, i wouldn't say he's really bloody old (only 60).

No truer word said. I'm 46 and still waiting patiently :D

If Robert Harvey was still running around I would have said St Kilda.

Richo is somehow less deserving, and some at Richmond would not be impressed by a premiership until after Terry Wallace has moved on.

So I'm going to say Fremantle, and not just because that's my team.

I didnt vote for my team Carlton even though i would love to win it next year. I voted for the Doggies as i have a soft spot for them and numerous family members supporting them. Long overdue for them. :)

If Wallet led us to a premiership me thinks Richmond supporters would quickley change their view on him. Osama could lead us to a flag and we'd worship him.

The ones that stand out for me are

St Kilda, Footscray (success starved)

Hawthorn, Geelong (proof of dominance)

Carlton (return from the wilderness)

But Richmond wins for mine. Not only has it been a long and torturous journey for Tigs fans over almost 30 years, but they also have the Richo factor as well.

If Geelong don't win it I'd like to see the Tigers do it. Would be a real filip for the game.

I agree with most of this but at the end of the day the Tigers and the Cats have won the same amount of premierships in the last 30 years

Melbourne. We aren't expected to pull ourselves off the bottom of the ladder or venture outside the bottom four so for us to win the premiership in 2009 would ensure that all MFC supporters would celebrate long & hard. That combined with not winning a premiership since 1964 would make for one hell of a party.

Sadly this is just dream and in reality if our kids mature as everyone hopes & expects our chance will come in hopefully the not to distant future (2011 & beyond). Fingers crossed

Don't you just love the comments offered by some of these Carlton supporters who have 16 premierships to their name already?

i voted carlton because we are all about premierships and the last 7 years have destroyed our record in the afl of never having a spoon, longest finals drought etc. added to all the off-field turmoil we've been through, i think carlton supporters would most cherish another flag.

i know im not supposed to say carlton but it would be very nice:thumbsu:
after the decade the fans have had to endure we do deserve something to cheer about

Ouch. A whole decade of suffering? You guys do deserve it, there is no way we'd appreciate it more than you guys would.

The Dogs because it has been a bloody long time, ditto for the Saints but they've had to endure awful performances on-field for years and Freo have never won one.

Rest assured if Melbourne won the flag next year I would be partying right into 2010.

other than carlton, i think richmond fans would also be right up there. most have never seen a premiership in their life and only a small handful have been to a finals game. their standing i the big 4 is severely compromised when they've been nothing but failures in most peoples' lifetimes. a flag for them (and their favourite son richo) would mean the world.

"We are all about premierships" ?

Ok.. lol.

And other team's aren't? As if pretend like Carlton are a special team, or somehow unique and different in the AFL. Other than a teams name and colours all clubs are evolving, gyratory franchises.

I would have to say St.Kilda because they have only won 1 premiership. In 2004/2005, they made the Preliminary Final, and were expected to do well in them.
They did quite well in though years, and to finally win a premiership after the heart breaking years; they would enjoy the premiership the most, especially because they have gone so close.

If 'some' at Richmond wouldn't be impressed with a premiership just because of our coach.. I feel sorry for them.

Richo is more deserving than anyone. One final series in his career, and a champion bloke.

That's kind of like saying Hugh Heffner hasn't got laid for few a couple of months so he'd appreciate scoring with Jennifer Hawkins more than your local dungeons and dragons freak.
