Seedsman if he can hit targets. Hampton and Menzel to grow into their roles to allow x factor to develop.
Gore reminds me of a Sam Mitchell type... his kicking and the way he moves through traffic.
They are all rough diamonds.

Hampton = McLeod like
Menzel = wingard like

why don't we just let them develop their own idenity and judge them on that. Then when they don't meet those lofty expectations, we get annoyed and labble them duds. Give them a break for a moment.

Agreed. McLeod is one of the best players to ever pick up a football. If Hampton ends up being even half as good, I'd be pretty happy.

As for the poll, I voted Seedsman. Assuming he is fit and ready to go, I think he'll slot in pretty nicely into the half back line and free up Smith to go to the midfield.

Think it will be the Seeeeeed ...he seems the most advanced and now just needs more consistency
Reckon gore will make it , he's a bull . Expect him to overtake Lyons during next season

Menzel could surprise a few and really turn it on depending on close to full pre season

Hampton needs more consistency , his best is amazing

Bit of work to do but the talent is there

This could be a discussion in a thread, all by itself.

What do you need - a good forward line or a good midfield?

Carlton didn't have a very good midfield, meaning the ball never got down to the forwards as often as it should.

Carlton didn't have a good anything. Their midfield looks star-studded compared to their forward line though. Pretty bad considering the Ex-ers (ex-Carlton players) kicked more goals this season than the whole Carlton list.

seedsman the highest voted? thats surprising. i voted menzel but could just as easily see it being hampton. both have unbelievable talent. i think hamptons upside is ridiculous compared to seedsman. seed's highlight video is impressive but hes just not tough and doesnt seem to give it his all, bit like hendo.

Midfield you mean?

The midfield will get it into the forward line far more often, with greater precision and accuracy.

With a better midfield and winning more of the ball will lead to more opportunities and that will then allow him to grow as a player.

I don't think Charlie Cameron would have developed as much as he has with a weak midfield.
I'm not so sure our 2016 midfield is better than Carlton's 2015 midfield. They just have a crap forward line and defense.

Menzel.

Potentially 4 x 50+ goal forwards in our side. Bring on 2016.

Who would you say are the 4 players? Walker, Betts, Jenkins, Menzel?

If so, big call as the most goals Menzel has kicked in a season is 26 goals in 2014.

Lynch had 32 goals this year and Cameron had 29 (albeit that included 2 finals games).

Dean Gore for me, could slot into the midfield rotations from round 1 even, if not will absolutely rip up the SANFL and demand his spot. I did have the advantage of seeing a couple of his VFL games on Channel 7's coverage of the VFL this season, underrate this kid at your peril, he is a seriously good footballer.

Is actually a tough question; which is a damn good sign!

Or its a bad sign.

Its the same argument we have every bloody preseason about who makes our best 22.

We have so many mediocre options that people wrongly confuse our lack of talent with an abundance of depth.

Lets be real here. All four players weren't considered best 22 options at their old clubs (all of which finished below us on the ladder).

In the draft period we have not secured a single player who would be an automatic walk up start in our 2015 side. We have replaced our best and fairest winner and best player with 4 players who could be above average.

Seedsman imo as menzel will start the season late & I expect Hampton May be in & out til he settles - though hope he surprises & settles immediately. I don't expect Gore to feature much or at a in the Afl team.

I disagree entirely.

Due to how weak our outside stocks are currently, and our focus on improving them, i'd be very surprised if Seedsman and Hampton aren't walk up starts for us. (Menzel is an absolute given he'll be in our Rnd 1 squad).

Outside players are a bit bitchy though to really tell one way or another, as they tend to be more marginalized in a weaker team.
