They are a recent premier with the undisputed best player in the comp at 22 years old, the best coach and clearly the best club cluture in the comp. Hawks are hardly a starved of success club. When did Hawks fans start accepting less than the best?

Sam Mitchell going soft has taken its toll clearly....

Or the day eddi said not much when carlton thrashe them

No doubt he'll be a brute, but he's a long way behind Daicos, and Nick is only just getting started too....

Nick's been arguably the best player in the comp over the past two seasons. Where would JHF rank over that time, given he's the same age?
I don’t think he’s a long way behind Daicos at all, he just hasn’t racked up the same numbers of disposals.

Like I said, I’d take him every day of the week.

It isn't a question of 'impact on a game'.

The problem for Collingwood is that Nick Daicos is so significantly better (and more impactful) than any other player on the list, that it looks like his performance 'impacts' games. In reality, the Pies just have very few other players that can sway the result of a game and its left to Daicos to provide the spark.
De Goey (when he isn't injured), and Houston (who only just joined the club) are the only other gamebreakers on the list that aren't in the twilight of their careers.

Conversely, Hawthorn has a much more even top end. Newcombe, Day, Sicily and Moore all capable of swinging a game, with youngsters like MacDonald, Weddle and even Watson not far behind.

Give me a spell. Are you suggesting that Moore, Crisp, Quaynor, Elliott, Hill, J Daicos, Maynard and Cameron are not top end players? And you've put bloody MacDonald and Watson in!!!

Fair dinkum, you'd think Hawthorn actually won the flag last year.

Hawthorn will definitely beat us when we play, as they always do, but both having good runs with injury, I'd say we have them covered comfortably. Can see them slipping this year, though Day, Newcombe and Weddle I like a lot.

Lots of question marks on the hawks for me. So many average players played better than they ever have late last year.
Will Scrimshaw continue to be Grant Birchall who can mark? Will Lloyd Meek be the best valued ruck in the comp? Will Dambrosio back up his stunning first year? Is Worpel actually good? Will other teams realise kicking to Amons opponent 1v1 equals guaranteed success? Like is previously honest but bang average Blake Hardwick a gun now?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, no and yes.

Your questions on Hawthorn are valid and reasonable

But Moore, Quaynor, Maynard and Crisp are not top end players, at least not based on recent form

And out of that lot, only 1 has scope for improvement

Daicos hasn’t won the Brownlow + Bont is superior 😝😝 plus didn’t win the flag last year so what’s all this relevant to 2025? 🤗🤗

Confident there’s quite a few Collingwood players not getting games at Hawthorn.

Average players playing better than they should isn’t a thing, ceiling is exactly what it means. Scrimshaws talent is ridiculously high, Lloyd Meek was brilliant and everyone can see his talent, D’Ambrosio shown his talents at Essendon and put it together consistently, Worpels had B&F years and has gotten better, stupid question. Kick to a small forward 1on1, team defense doesn’t work like that. Amon isn’t a bad defender anyway 🤣

Oh and calling Hardwick bang average is the stupidest comment I’ve ever heard.

Well you've tipped Carlton to be better than Collingwood, and Carlton and Hawthorn "about the same"... logically that means you're tipping Hawthorn to be better than the Pies, no sitting on the fence here [emoji16]

On SM-A225F using BigFooty.com mobile app

So, I didn't actually tip the Hawks to finish higher

Reminder: Pendles was put in a hospital in 2009 due to the way he was acting to the locals in a town in Gippsland (flashing people while on a boat, pouring drinks over women, and publicly degrading and belittling women who rebuffed his advances)

Individuals mature at different rates.

Ok keyboard warrior, besmirch a footy legend on a footy thread with zero evidence.

Laughable. Or at least I think it is. Let's see how the season plays out.

Nah, you’d just be aware that Collingwood didn’t even make finals.
You’ve listed a bunch of players who underperformed by their own admissions.

Hawthorn will definitely beat us when we play, as they always do, but both having good runs with injury, I'd say we have them covered comfortably. Can see them slipping this year, though Day, Newcombe and Weddle I like a lot.
We slapped you in 2024, with the second youngest list in the comp and didn’t even bother tagging the supposed bestest player ever.

To say Collingwood have Hawthorn covered comfortably suggests you need a user name change.

This bloke has a picture of Fox News as his profile pic and calls himself 'fair and balanced'.

That's like having a pic of trump as your profile pic and calling yourself 'intelligent, articulate, analytical and progressive-thinking'....

Sam Mitchell bottles his own farts then breathes them in. I have seen it happen. Crazy
The Harley pic has broken a few brains it seems.
