Just wondering who will pick up Lance Franklin this weekend, Rutten seems like the obvious choice but does he has the pace to go with Buddy all day?

Yes. Easily in the top 3 FBs in the league. Will play on Buddy all day, especially with Bassett out. He has decent pace and stamina.

Rutten does seem like the obvious choice because he is the best choice, by a long way.

Start Rutten on him.

If that doesn't work, keep Rutten on him and stick the resting ruckman in the hole.

If that doesn't work, keep Rutten on him, stick the resting ruckman in the hole and get Torney to chop across the front of the lead. He's ballsy enough.

Rutten would be first choice, but I wouldn't be surprised if Stevens was put on him for a bit, depending on how Rutten goes. Stevens is just a little taller than Rutten.

Why focus just on Lance Buddy Franklin? Hawthorn have got more talls on their list that you guys should be worrying about.

Rutten should play FB regardless (unless there is only a small to match up on).

That would leave either Stevens or Bock on Franklin, assuming he plays across HF.

If Rutten goes with Franklin, who will grab Roughead?

We have suffered a big blow with Boyle being injured, so unfortunatly the box set up will probably be smaller unless Thorp comes in to debut.

We could see a Mcleod vs Bateman match up which would line up as a fast flowing contest between the two.

Depending where Franklin starts will indicate whether Ben gets him. I don't ever wan't to see Ben stray to far from the D50 again. We're lost down there without him.

Yeah right.
You never know. Sewelly has kicked a few goals. Not many but when he does kick at goal he is pretty good.
I expect Rutten to be quick enough to play on Sewell. You mightn't like that because Sewell will probably expose Rutten for pace.

Franklin will probably start deep, so then we would expect to see a great match up between the two.

No doubt 1 on 1 Rutten will beat Buddy 9 times out of 10 but i think Clarkson will like to have rutten on Buddy to somewhat expose his lack of pace

It looks like rain on Saturday night in Adelaide so it could even these two sides up. Hawks will be coming off a torrid encounter with the Pies and only 6 days rest. I expect Neil Craig to play a high possession game and try and use the last half to come over us.

Regardless of who plays on Buddy, its the midfield supply that matters. If Hawks get more than 50% of the clearances expect them to win. If Adelaide can pinch 60% they will probably win it.

Should be a good game. Good luck to the Crows :thumbsu:

Crows are also coming off a 6 day break, rain would help us though.

With Boyle out I think they will move Croad forward and put Danny Jacobs back into the side to play back.
