It was a bloody good trade even at the time with pick 7 ( DeGoey ) and 20 something ( Greenwood)…even if the steak Knives had turned out to be blunt.

You might have thought that, I might have thought that, but I don’t exactly have pleasant memories of modding that damn Beams thread. Even post trade.

The thing is, a lot of CFC supporters want a Premiership NOW already. Greenwood was going to help a little, but pick 5 and Crisp were always going to be long term speculations - and it’s not as if some of our other early picks at the time were setting the world on fire (Scharenberg and Freeman)

With the benefit of hindsight, sure.

But nobody thought it was “perfect” as the time. Where do you reckon Crisp got the nickname “steak knives” from?

People tend to get attached to players overrate their value
