If you could only delist one and only one player who would it be and why?

Mine would have to be Ian Perrie, although he has played a few good games over there years, he is just too inconsistant and its time we let the younger guys like watts and hentschel a chance to play in that position.

I would of said him, believe me i want him gone but as much as i dont rate him, we will need him next year.
with stenglein going, he is our only negating and run with player.
That is the only reason i think he will stay on the list.

There are a few others I would trade or delist as well. The issue with having a proven tagger has come up in relation to Shirley on other threads.

The opportunity is there to start with a clean slate. Perhaps we need to take a risk and throw a rookie at them. Worked with Peverill, Simpson & others.

stranger things have happened :)

I havent seen much of the Adelaide rookies so somebody else would be better to answer that...any one know if one of the rookies can step up to a role like that?

None of the guys on the actual Rookie List would be able to do it, because four of them would have too much size- we have two ruckmen and two KPP's, and I don't think Timmy Hazell could do it either.
And in regards to that "who would you delist first" thing, well, I'd delist Ladhams first, then Gallagher, and Scott Stevens too, if there's a way we could get rid of him while he still has a year left on his contract.

Well Reilly has been touted as a possible future midfielder and has done well as a run off defender. If Begley and Doughty can handle the HBs then this may be a way to fast track him. Worth a go at least.

From what I have seen of Hazell I reckon he would be worth a shot as a tagger. Good size, good concentration and disciplined. Has a decent engine. All that points to potentially being able to do the tagging role.

Mattner could also fit that role...he is quick, a great tackler, and he doesnt mind backing his skills in.

anyone but shirley!!!!!!
Except that he lacks concentration to stick to the job for the entire game. Been there, tried that and it didn't work. Maybe worrth persisting with but hard to improve concentration levels.

I'll leave this one to you, alright? I just thought that because he was playing as a forward in the Norwood game I went to he might not be that good of a tagger, but I've only seen one Norwood match.
And yeah, at times he did look alright, he followed his man out and displayed close-checking most of the night. Yep, you're right. :D

Ladhams would stay before Skippy love, has better skills, better body for AFL and although inconsistent especially this year has more potential to be good than skipworth and you dont go around delisting a bloke like Scott Stevens who if he can spend more time in the gym preseason and really bulk up could be a good KPP for the future, we all forget he is still reasonably young tall and talls take longer to develop than smalls!

Delist:

Gallagher at 24 to many chances and too old
Skipworth at 22 to many chances, not big enough for AFL, not good enough for AFL
Shirley if stinger goes, had chances and hasnt had same sort of season as last year
Ladhams, but would be the first keep of this group

cant get rid of perrie as his on two year deal!

retire:
burns
smart
carey

clarke to play on for one more

yeah igree with what you are saying, but he is only young, once he is around for a little bit longer, his footy brain gets better and im sure his concentration will get alot better....i hope!
He is good to watch, i didnt know much about him until this season but i think he is a good egg and will be a great player for AFC for many years to come.
