1. How exactly do you think Essendon fit all of their players in the salary cap?
(Remember they did breach the cap over a NUMBER of years and complained loudly when the club was fined.)

2. Caroline Wilson has written some plainly biased articles against North and Carey in particular.
(Her father was a CEO of Richmond and Richmond complained bitterly when Keith Greig was awarded the Brownlow. Sour grapes he was a CHAMPION.)

3. Channel 7 are showing Collingwood v St Kilda at Colonial.
(I don't mind, but WHY, WHY, WHY are they not showing North v WC even at 10.30pm. If you think we are annoyed, wait until next year, only 5 games will be on free-to-air. Then YOU may understand and perhaps agree. Essendon, Collingwood and Carlton will be the winners.)

4. Take a good long UNBIASED look at North's draw in 1999 and 2000. The so-called big 3 and a COUPLE of the interstate teams had dream draws. I don't mean the fairness of the draw in playing terms, but FINANCIALLY. Each year Coll, Carl, and Ess play each other twice. The name of the game is now called gate receipts. Just imagine Big John keeping all receipts, wouldn't that make Eddie McChins happy. North's biggest game (2000) was against Ess and who kept all gate receipts? It was North.

5. Don't even mention North's administration. Our administration highly regarded. Have a good long look at your own team's administration, jealousies, board rivalries, # of coaches
etc. (Take extra good care of Crock, because we want him back. He is on loan, as he is North man through-and through.

6. This year we had many problems and we made a loss.
What is the AFL's excuse? A projected loss of 24 million. What in the hell are they doing? Do you realise this will hurt EVERY team?

Thanks for your post TT,

I think Shinners, Rooboy, other North supporters and myself are continually sick of having to defend our club - the team of the 90s.

If ANY Melbourne club 'goes under', I believe the majority of that club's supporters will be lost to the game. And that equates to lost revenue for the remaining clubs. Witness the divisions between some Fitzroy supporters and Brisbane.

I won't even bother replying to the other poster, because he/she simply ignored my original questions.

Hopefully the plan gets approved by the AFL, as from what I understand of this great new initiative, Essendon will be the only club allowed to have a "franchise" player, maybe two or three if we so wish.

The remaining 15 clubs will still be constrained the cap of course, just to keep things fair for the rest of you.

I think it'll be just great for football !!!!
